The hotel is in excellent location. Stayed here twice - first in lovely room in annexe opposite hote but second time was in a very smoky box like room. But the shine was taken off the stay by the fact that the mega Hilton Corporation did not honour the rate we had booked at. 100% for adults and 50% for kids in their own room seemed like quite a good deal, and yes it was reasonable for them to assure themselves that they were in fact children in the second room. Despite mentioning the agreed rate, and handing over the confirmation on check in the promised refund to credit card was not made. After a few weeks I registered a complaint and few weeks after that the first refund filtered through, but nothing for the second stay. Another complaint was made and now I am waiting to see if the second refund will arrive. This is not good enough - presumably the hope is that people will forget. Well I don't forget £140 just like that and the only result is that I will think twice about booking Hilton again.

We stayed at the Imperial Hilton for two nights - August 10 -20, 2007. The room was more than adequate, and the food at the restaurants was fine. The service people were great, in particular, Verdran, the Concierge. He was so pleasant and professional, and very helpful. The hotel is near the Old City, where all the activity and great restaurants are.

The only thing we didn't like were the towels in the bathroom. They were thin and stiff. I mentioned this to the Quality Assurance person who I met in the lobby. A hotel of this calibur should have thick, soft towels.

All in all, we would stay at the Imperial Hilton again should we return to Dubrovnik.

Great hotel and great location - less then 5 mins (level) walk from Dubrovnik Old Town, so if you're in Dubrovnik for sightseeing (rather than sunbathing), it's perfect. Hotel has the standard of service you would expect from a Hilton, and (in the parts we saw at least) has good modern decor. We stayed on the excutive floor, which we would recommend - partly for the fantastic views over the Old Town and the Adriatic, and partly for the executive lounge, which was manned by some very friendly and helpful staff (with immaculate English). Get Room 422 if you can - the terrace is huge and the views amazing.

We stayed for 4 nights end August 2007 with an 8 month old baby. We were disappointed overall mostly because the hotel was overpriced for what we got. To be fair, the whole of Dubrovnik city is overpriced, not just the Hilton.

We booked our baby cot 7 months in advance and rang to confirm twice but when we arrived they had a cheap travel cot with no matress (and a big metal bar sticking up through the base) which was comletely un-useable. Then they gave us a 'thing' you would use to transport laundry in a prison and was completely and utterly un-useable as a baby cot. So our baby had to sleep in our bed as they had no actual cot available. For the price we paid, we expected a proper cot. Eventually we suggested that they give us the mattress from the prison laundry thing and squash it into the travel cot.

It's advertised everywhere in the hotel that kids eat for free from the kids menu. However this menu is too advanced for an 8 month old so we had to pay 8 euros for a side order of mashed potato every day...
Also had to pay to use the internet, babysitter was 17 euros per hour, cheapest bottle of wine on menu well over 30 euros, main courses over 30 euros plus 8 euros for side orders on top, nearly 5 euros for glass of coke... this is overpriced no matter what way you look at it :-)

We were initially given a tiny, dark, ground floor cramped room 'overlooking' a stone wall which was located in a separate building from the restaurant /pool (no mention of this on booking). We complained and were immediately upgraded to a much nicer room with great views.

The food was OK, edible and sometimes nice but never gorgeous. Breakfast buffet was again alright, nothing special.

The staff were indeed very helpful and friendly and did their best to resolve the fact that they had no cot. If it wasn't for the friendly helpful 'can do' attitude of the staff, I would be marking this 1 out of 5.

We stayed at the Hilton for 6 nights at the end of August 07. We booked an exec room and the one we got was excellent - on the 4th floor with a balcony and beautiful views over the sea and the old town. Our room was at the side facing the town which is preferable to the front which overlooks the road. The staff were lovely although they gave an inital impression of dourness (made us feel right at home!).

The room was exellent with all the usual stuff. The exec lounge was pleasant and served drinks and nibbles all day. Breakfast could be taken in the lounge or the main restaurant. We chose the main restaurant - more choice and we could sit outside.

This is not a hotel for a beach type holiday - no outside pool, no sun loungers etc, but if you want a beach holday I can think of lots of better places than Dubrovnik. Some even have beaches.
The hotel is 100 yards from the entrance to the old town which is what we came for.

Excellent eating at Nautica, Arsenal ,and if you want a quick pizza the Domino by the church of the same name was fine. Dubrovnik itself is beautiful but gets very overcrowded when the tour boats are in town. Musts include walking the walls, the cathedral and the two monasteries. There are lots of concerts in the churches etc - we managed one which was an hours worth of enjoyable light classics.
Lokrum is a great escape with a pleasant cafe (great iced coffee)and restaurant (excellent pasta) and lovely walks.

Cavcat was so nice we went twice. Great walks round the bay - Leut restaurant was terrific for a long liquid fuelled lunch. Took a walk over to the Excelsior hotel just round the bay from the Hilton which seemed very pleasant. Hiked in to Lapad/Babin Kuk which didn't impress me at all.

Would highly recommend the Hilton and Dubrovnik for sight seeing, a bit of culture, sunshine, and some lovely walks

Stayed here for a long weekend at the end of May using Hilton points. Upgraded to a smart exec room with balcony at the side looking to the walls, not at the front, which is set back in any case.

Breakfast was included and was perfectly acceptable. Had a bar snack additionally whilst staying also ok.

The location is perfect and allowed a quick retreat when the heavens opened. Also quick access to the old town, the main point of coming to this fantastic city.

A personal emergency was professionally and sympathetically handled. All staff we encountered were fine.

Did look at other properties but was glad to have picked this one regardless of payment method and would happily stay again if I am lucky enough to return to this city

This is a great hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here. And what a BRILLIANT location. Right outside gates to Old Town. Service was extremely freindly. Staff were incredibly helpful especially in light of fact we had a little demanding toddler. They organised an excellent babysitter for us who we used most evenings. Also the chef in the hotel restaurant was more than willing to accomodate our fussy toddler's eating needs by making a few of his favourites especially for him. Not one bad thing to say about this hotel - highly recommend it!
