This is a solidly good hotel. Good rooms, very chilly air con which has been fantastic in the baking heat. Sea view room with cute balcony. Mini bar fridge to chill your wine. Pricey mini bar though.

Easy transfer from airport. 35kn from airport to old town on shuttle bus which is timed to leave airport 30 mins after plane lands. Takes 30 mins to old town then change on to number 4 bus, 15kn and a 15 min journey to hotel.

Hotel staff, mixed, some on reception are brilliantly helpful, staff on bar a bit miserable and don't like serving drinks which is ...Erm...odd.

Overall good hotel and good location.

I can recommend Hotel Ulva it was great. Spotlessly clean everywhere, the staff were so helpful and kind they really made you feel welcome. The manager too was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
The bus stop to the old town was just outside the door and ran every 15 mins. We had a sea view and it was well worth it for the sunsets over the bay were spectacular. A great restful holiday

Room Tip: Have a sea room overlooking the bay

This was the first and only hotel we have used when holidaying in Croatia ( 4 times ) so my review might seem a bit biased. The hotel is in a great location with a bus stop to get to the old city right outside the front enterance or if you want to go to the local bars and restaurants its only 5 minute walk.
We have always stayed on the 4th floor and the rooms are spotless and with a great view over the bay, this year as soon as the cleaner seen us going for breakfast no mater what time she was in and cleaned the room for our return.
The food at breakfast is always good with a choice second to none as is the same with the dinners - we stayed 11 nights and never once struggled to find something to eat.
The only down side - and it's a small one - is the wine is a bit pricey and the bar area could be run a bit better.
As most reviews have already stated the staff at the hotel are great and nothing is too much bother - definately worth trying this hotel if holidaying in Croatia.

This hotel had a wonderful location with a bus stop right out front to take us to old town in 15 minutes. The rooms were very large and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Christijan at the front desk

We stayed for 11 nights in the Uvala in early June. The hotel is in an excellent position, short walk to beach, short walk to the centre with restaurants and bars. Hotel room was clean, and it's worth paying extra for a sea view. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was good, lots of choice. One downside was the layout of the bar area. This needs redesigning to encourage its use. You can catch a No 4 bus into Dubrovnic right outside the hotel. Buy tickets at the hotel reception. Beware of buying some trips from street vendors. We were badly let down on the Three Island Trip. There is an agent close to the Uvala which has a good reputation for trips, and the price is the same or cheaper.

Overall we had an excellent holiday, and we'd definitely stay here in the future!

Room Tip: Rooms on the sea facing side are more expensive, but in my view, are worth paying for. The 4th floor...

We stayed for a week in the second week of June. We chose the hotel as its a 15min bus trip to the old city. A good decision as the bus stops just down the road and cost £1.50 return. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the food was good and varied although the vegetables could be improved. Some of the staff were very helpful and friendly, some could have tried more. The indoor pool was lovely. Not much room around the pool and not many loungers if its busy. There is some traffic noise but it didnt bother us.
A pretty bay with walks
Overall a very good hotel and Dubrovnik is fantastic.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back only have wooded hill views but very quiet

We had an excellent holiday, staying for a week in this hotel. It has a bus service outside which runs half hourly into Dubrovnik, which only takes 10 minutes. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. A lovely patio area with a good view, we didn't have a sea facing room as we opted not to pay the extra for this and although our room did not have a view it was quiet and peaceful on our balcony. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Not plush but we were exploring the area not staying in our room. On one day when the weather wasn't as good we took advantage of the indoor pool which is a sort of conservatory and also had a jaccuzi. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
