First of all, the location is fine. Yes, it's not the Old Town, but the bus is really regular and Lapad is a nice area to stay anyway. Nice sea, lots of restaurants, supermarket, etc.. The hotel itself was OK. Expensive, but all hotels in Dubrovnik are and this was a lot more reasonable than others. Room was comfortable and decent shower. Breakfast buffet was good too. No complaints at all and, while it was fairly pricey, that's Dubrovnik unfortunately!

I really don't understand the super positive reviews here. If you want to see Old Town, arrange water sports, walk to a variety of great restaurants, you don't want to stay in Lapad (the only benefit is it's close to the ferry). Schlepping on and off a (super crowded) bus back and forth to town on hot days wasn't fun. The Hotel Perla was far from a diamond in the rough. The sheets, towels, blanket were thin and worn, bed uncomfortable, and it was in a gritty area of town. We wouldn't be staying here again.

I was there for 2 nights and very much enjoyed my stay. It was much nicer staying in Lapad than in the city centre, as it is quieter but still with lots of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and the beach in less than 5 min walk. It is easy to get to the old town with the bus, which is quite frequent.
The room was simple, but nice with a spacious bathroom and good towels to use at the beach. Staff was helpful and friendly with our questions and requests.
The only issue is that the wifi connection was not very good and kept dropping.
If I go back to Dubrovnik I would stay there again and I recommend it to other travellers.

Our little family stayed for a couple of days in the Hotel Perla and without being too enthusastic we can say it is a small diamond in a place where not everything is gold that shines. The fish we had in the Agora Restaurant was tasty, fresh and all you could expect from a Hotel 50m away from shore. Highly recommended.

Hotel ideally situated in a quiet street with other hotels, bars and restaurants minutes away from the beach area and local bus stop. Very welcoming courteous staff, always keen to help with advise on local area. Bedrooms small but clean, ours (room300) had a balcony at the front of the hotel overlooking the quiet pedestrianised street from which there was a limited sea view. Beds and pillows comfortable, bathroom had a decent shower (pleasant surprise) along with complementary body/hair wash. Unfortunately the hair dryer was of little use, recommend you take your own. Breakfast was good with selection of cold meats, cheese, eggs, jams with bread, fresh fruit and delicious omelettes.
If you stay expecting 3 star hotel standards it will exceed expectation, overall a lovely short stay and yes I would recommend this hotel to others.
