“Lovely Apartment”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

We stay here for 3 nights in May. Zoran and his brother are friendly and helpful. Zoran picked us up from the airport and treat us with beer and homemade apple pie on arrival. They also help us to get the bus ticket from main bus station and drove us there on the last day. The location is a bit difficult to reach if it is the first time in Dubrovnik. Matije Gubca is a long stairway near the cable car station so it is better to be picked up by Zoran. The apartment itself is lovely and the view from the balcony is stunningly beautiful. There are all the things that we need in the apartment so we could prepare our meal and enjoy it with the amazing view. Though walking up the stairway from old town can be painful, the view worth it. We believe that the view is even better than that on the old town wall or on top of the hill. To avoid the steps, the apartment can also be reach by walking up the slope from cable car station. It is easy and take no more than 15 minutes up. A grocery store is located on the way between the apartment and the cable car station.

I was a single traveller and stayed for 3 nights. I arranged my stay with Zoran ( owner ) prior and was picked up at the airport. Maybe a 20 minutes drive and was given a sea view studio room at a very reasonable rate. The room was adequate for 2 people. The view from the room was stunning but a bit cold to stay outside ( Feb. 16-19 ). It was a beautiful experience to wake up in the morning to see a stunning view from your room ( if door left open ) or out the balcony and maginificent view of old town and the city walls at night. Zoran's brother baked me healthy muffins and left it in my room while I was out. The view maybe stunning but if you are not into steps or walking or have knee problem, then this place is not for you. To get down to OLD TOWN and food places, you have to go through a lot of stairs/steps and I am a very active person and it killed my calf the following day and I could hardly get up and walk. But had to push myself to take those stairs again or I will starve as have no food to eat :-) . Other than the "killer stairs/steps" I had a lovely stay. I felt safe even I was a lone traveller and the only guest on the 2nd floor. Zoran and his brother were very accommodating and helpful. No tours available due to winter time but was able to go up around the city wall and the museums and enjoy espresso while sitting at restaurant outside the plaza. Missed the cable ride due to strong winds ( unsafe). Public transpo is pretty easy and nearby towns are very accessible. Before I left, I was given again a healthy baked cake. I was allowed to have a late checkout due to late flight and was driven back to the airport. Would recommend this place and would go back again.

Room Tip: Ask for the higher floor room on the far corner ( not close to the entrance door to the floow ) as y...

When you will see this view first time you will know why your choice was 100% good.
It is beautiful, marvelous experience when first thing which you can see just after waking up is this view from your balcony. We have been to this place a few month ego but still remember very warm welcome and enjoyable stay in this pension. Zoran, Igor and whole family are wonderful and hospitable people. The room, bathroom and kitchen are very clean and comfortable. You can prepare meals in your kitchen but we recommend the breakfast provided by owners. It is very, very good.
We can highly recommend this place.
Special thanks for Cousin for a trip to Herceg Novi and Kotor and big thank you for whole family
Stankovich for great holiday.

Room Tip: We booked studio 3 and it was very good choice. Recommended 100%

We have chosen the Pension Stankovich based on positive reviews and my own experience from my business trip in Dubrovnik last October. With my wife we have fled to Dubrovnik directly after our wedding and stayed at pension seven nights. The pension is located not far from the old city with nice view to the sea and the old town. The amazing sunsets into the sea could be watched directly from the balcony. The studios are of reasonable size. The small kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals. The family (Zoran and Igor) is very friendly and makes your stay enjoyable. I may recommend Pension Stankovich for a great honey-month! When we come back to Dubrovnik again, it is no doubt that we will stay at the Pension Stankovich!

We have just returned home after a splendid stay at Pension Stankovich. The family are really nice. Zoran picked us up at the airport, and Igor had a welcoming beer ready, which was a little early in the day for us - but we enjoyed it later in the afternoon. The room was reasonably sized and had everything we needed. There was plenty of hot water, and the rooms were cleaned every day. They even put in new glasses and removed rubbish several times a day.
From the balcony, which we shared with our friends who stayed in the room next door, we had a breath-taking view of Dubrovnik old town. We ordered breakfast every day, and enjoyed Igors lovely omelets with fresh juice and coffee. The pan-cakes was really tasty, but together with the omelet, a little too much for us. Instead, they offered fresh fruit.
You have to be able to walk stairs, but it is well worth it. We climbed the stairs to and from the city centre two-three times a day, and it was totally manageable. During the stay, we also walked up Mt. Srd. Really beautiful view. Would highly recommend the walk instead of the gondola if you are used to walk. Shoes are a must (not flip-flops...). We also tried the kayaking, which was a lot of fun. And it is true that you don`t need any previous experience.
We had a lovely stay in Dubrovnik, hope to return some day and highly recommend Pension Stankovich to others.

Having stayed here for 7 nights in the last week in September with my wife, I have to say that Pension Stankovich is a wonderfully family ran place to Dubrovnik. The place is spotless, has wonderful views of the old town and Igor and his family do everything to make your stay enjoyable, from the welcoming beers to recommending restaurants and trips. We done all the tourist stuff in the morning from 9-3, then headed back up to property to enjoy the stunning views of the old town and watch the sun go down before heading out for dinner. If travelling here I would recommend contacting the family direct and requesting transport to and from the airport as this is cheaper than getting a taxi. Dubrovnik old town itself is quite beautiful and has a very laid back feel to it. When I do come back here, there is no question that I shall be staying at the Pension Stankovich

Room Tip: Room 5 has tremendous views of the old town

Pension Stankovich is a great place to stay while in Dubrovnik. The family are really welcoming and friendly, providing us with drinks on our first night. For a little extra they picked us up from the airport and dropped us off at the port on departure. The view is AMAZING. However you have to climb many, many steps to reach it. It wouldn't put me off returning but it's definitely something to be aware of as in the middle of the day it is no mean feat!
The rooms were spotlessly clean with good AC and shower, we didn't think we had a balcony room but we had our own little table on the balcony, which was a bonus.
