Indubitable , Rixos is one of the happy options to stay in Dubrovnik ,and also a reconfirmation the fact that perfect locations are very rare or not exist.
Rixos welcomes you with a privileged position wich offers unforgettable views, close enough to be a pleasureto walk to the old town , with a irreproachable staff ,excellent equipped and comfortable rooms ,very strong wi-fi ,with a lovely kitchen where desserts are truly irresistible.
There are few things that bother, so one of them would be somewhat strange smell that dominates the vast entrance hall , a certain lack of attention to detail maintenance of common areas , that matter greatly when we speak about excellence , modest swimming pool.
A useful tip :
if possible avoid floor 11 and 12, choose a room with sea view, deserve to pay more to make your stay will be closer than a xcelent one.

Room Tip: Without floors 11 and 12, room with sea view

Having read one or two poor reviews we can confirm that the majority of reviews are correct. This is a very nice hotel with very helpful staff.

We had an excellent room on the second floor, big balcony overlooking the sea - well worth it.

Breakfasts were great and the one lunchtime snack we had on the terrace was also good.

Yes there are one or two minor faults in the hallways but we can live with that.

As a base for going into town it was as described - a 15-20 minute walk.

If you wanted to relax on the terrace or swim in the sea it is great (but you do need to get a bed early).

We would go back

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view on the floors below floor 10

I would stay at this hotel every time I get the chance to visit Dubrovnik in the future. It's gorgeous. The first night my boyfriend and I had dinner at the outdoor restaurant in the pool area. Fabulous! The food was amazing, the staff was SUPER friendly. It was also a very private experience, under the moonlight, next to the ocean with a woman playing the piano. The waiter randomly came over and covered me with a shawl to keep me warm. They also provide a free buffet breakfast every morning - what a spread! We loved the hotel so much we had dinner there two nights. It was such an elegant experience. It's also walking distance to the old city too. I LOVE this hotel. I do recommend an ocean view room as you wake up to the sound of waves each morning. Plus, you get your own private balcony. Side note - make sure you take a ride on the cable car in the city center. There is an amazing surprise at the top of the mountain if you're looking for a wild time - Buggy Adventure!

Room Tip: An ocean view room is worth EVERY PENNY!!!!

The hotel is situated a short cab ride or a longer walk to the old city. It has stunning views of the Adriatic. The best part of this hotel is the sundeck. It's gorgeous and has full services, including a waitress on roller skates. Since there are few sandy beaches in Croatia, the hotel has a beautiful swim platform complete with shower. You can rinse off and step into the lovely clear Adriatic. There is also a beautiful pool. We had a suite, which very large with a big balcony and 2 bathrooms. Dining was indoor and outdoor with 4 options. Breakfast was included and had a huge selection. Guest Services was very accommodating and extremely helpful as was the rest of the staff. The only reason I would not rate this as excellent is the hotel is in need of an update. Once that is completed this is the best and most stunning location.

Generally good food for breakfast and evening meal. Prices for drinks, and alternative restaurants to standard buffet, were expensive. As little to no entertainment meant that the atmosphere in evening rather flat. Good quality rooms, helpful staff but area around pool was crowded. Should be warning about wooden decking around pool as my wife picked up 2 splinters.
Thomson rep non-existent in terms of difference she made
