Having read all the numerous positive reviews I booked a week at the Apartments Placa and was not disappointed.
Arrived 7pm after delayed flight and found the square no problem but locating the apartment entrance amongst the hordes of people proved more difficult, however Tonci
was keeping a look out for us from his room above the apartments and dashed down to greet us.
We had booked a superior apartment which was on the second floor and numbered 1.
Tonci showed us around and explained everything, i.e. Air con controls, cooker and fridge etc and pointed out the two cold beers in the fridge.
The room was spacious with a beautiful central light fitting, furniture was 19th century style and was in keeping with the room, spacious shower cubicle and toilet area.
We didn't use the kitchen which was basic but functional.
Now those church bells I'm sure Quasimodo the hunch back of Notre Dame was in town most mornings and definitely at weekends, the bells those confounded bells, really though they weren't that bad.
I would advise anyone with any of walking problems that the stairs to the apartments are very steep and may prove a difficulty.More
