The location of this apt is ideal. It's easy to find, Tonci is very communicative in advance so you feel confident about your arrival, and it's very clean & comfortable. Could use a bit more counter/table space, but overall has everything you need. The door between the kitchenette area and the sleeping space was helpful for privacy while changing clothes. It was the only enclosed shower we had on this trip, which makes a huge difference - no flooding on the floor! Best part? Every morning when you leave and every evening when you return, there are kitties to greet you at the door!

Only cash is accepted for payment - this was not indicated on the listing and was a surprise/inconvenience. 2 flights of stairs to get to apt. I saw a scorpion in the hall! (actually thought it was cool to see it, didn't really bother me). Everything on TV was in German (?) Overall a nice stay.

The owner is great, the apartments are great, very clean, well refurbished and outfitted. However, even with the windows closed the noise from the square below was loud. Also, the pillows are only foam and I found them hot to sleep on. But, that is my preference and not a failing here. If not for the noise, I would give them 5 stars.

Having read all the numerous positive reviews I booked a week at the Apartments Placa and was not disappointed.
Arrived 7pm after delayed flight and found the square no problem but locating the apartment entrance amongst the hordes of people proved more difficult, however Tonci
was keeping a look out for us from his room above the apartments and dashed down to greet us.
We had booked a superior apartment which was on the second floor and numbered 1.
Tonci showed us around and explained everything, i.e. Air con controls, cooker and fridge etc and pointed out the two cold beers in the fridge.
The room was spacious with a beautiful central light fitting, furniture was 19th century style and was in keeping with the room, spacious shower cubicle and toilet area.
We didn't use the kitchen which was basic but functional.
Now those church bells I'm sure Quasimodo the hunch back of Notre Dame was in town most mornings and definitely at weekends, the bells those confounded bells, really though they weren't that bad.
I would advise anyone with any of walking problems that the stairs to the apartments are very steep and may prove a difficulty.

Room tip: Our second floor room suffered noise from the apartment above.

Fabulously historic clean room, right in the centre of Dubrovnik behind the Cathedral ... open the front door and everything is on your doorstep. For GOT fans you are staying on the "walk of shame". Literally 30 seconds walk from the Rectors Palace, St Blaise, Clock Tower, loads of restaurants - supermarket directly opposite ... could not get a more perfect location in Dubrovnik. There are no steps to reach this building which is a mega plus - you need to be careful where you choose to stay - some apartments on thenorth side of Dubrovnik have 100 steep steps to get to them. The square the apartment is located in is buzzing but everything seems to stop at 11pm to midnight so quiet for sleeping. The apartment also has shutters and double glazing so you don't hear very much with them closed. Has air conditioning so fine to close up, although I liked opening the windows in the morning and hearing the church bells and the sounds of activity outside. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. I loved opening the massive front door to the apartment building! Tonci gives you a great welcome and gives the impression nothing is too much trouble. He even leaves you a welcome gift of beers and snacks - much appreciated. Our apartment had it's own hot water heater - so loads of hot water. Well equipped kitchenette (we only used for breakfast).
