Edi's Sea View Rooms Old Town

I am honestly incredibly shocked to read any of the negative reviews for Edi. Maybe we just lucked out, maybe because we booked ahead of time so we got good rooms, I am not sure, but I am flabbergasted at those that left less than stellar reviews.

Edi is seriously the best host I have ever had, he was as help as can be. Some specific examples:
-we ended up last minute staying longer in Dubrovnik, he helped us call our next TWO hostels (and speaking Croatian, which helped greatly) to move our reservations down one day, and cancel one, so that we did not have to pay ANY penalty. He did not have to do this for us, but he did.
-he was completely booked up, as we needed a room for an extra last minute night, he found us one. Of course it wasn't a coveted sea view room, but we were happy to have a room so last minute and it was still clean. Super basic, no wifi, just two beds and a lamp.

And of course any questions we had about any tours/restaurants/bars, he gave us suggestions.
We did mention to one restaurant we knew Edi (as he suggested, but also explicitly stated he wasn't running on commission) and we got a shot of "grappa" on the house.

Location: literally 1 minute walk to old town pile gates and right in front of the bus station. SO convenient!

View: If you do get a sea view room, it is spectacular. We got a view of the fortress(?) and the ocean on the 3rd floor. Just great.

We stayed in 3 different rooms over 4 nights, in one of the non -sea view rooms, it was still super cute, had a kitchen and living room, a/c, and the shower was amazing-one of those with jets that come from every direction.

I will 100% be booking with Edi, next time in Dubrovnik.

Perfect location just outside the main entrance to Old Town. We had the most spectacular sea view room with the sound of the water crashing up against the rocks. We also had a kitchen, tv, and hot water! Edi was a great host. He gave us lots of suggestions of where to go and helped us book the rest of our trip in Croatia. I definitely suggest staying here!

Stayed for one night as we passed through dubrovnik, the location is perfect for the old town and the owner incredibly friendly and helpful, he came out to meet us as we had got lost and gave us very helpful dircetions to the best places to eat and drink. When you first enter the accomodation it does not look great, the terrace which is the owners office is a little untidy and the stairs to the room a little narrow but you have to remember this is effectively a B&B not a hotel.

The room we had was lovely, Edi gave us a choice of 2 a newer one with no seaview and an older one with a seaview. We took the new one and i was very pleasantly surprised, for what we paid for the accomodation and the location it was very nice. Although small it was well equipred and finished to a good standard, there were nice touches like exposed beams and some natural stone walls.

I would not hesitate to recomend this place to anyone looking for budget accomodation near the old town.

Stayed in the 'sea view' rooms at the top of the house & thought they were good value for money. En suite, TV, kettle, clean etc. We found Edi very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent - 5 mins walk from the old city and an even shorter distance to Tourist Information & the bus stops. Use Trip Adviser to sus out the best places to eat in the old city & buy yourself a good guide book from Amazon before you go.

We stayed across in the cousins apartments next door. Our room was on the top floor. The room and bathroom were clean and apart from the bed being a bit squeaky and quite short (my boyfriend is around 6ft so had to lie to the side slightly so he could stretch out his legs) our stay was good. It is a stones throw away from the old town and Edi gives you a map and recommends things to do and places to eat including perfect times if you want it to be not so busy. We took Edis advice on many of the restaurant suggestions and they were all brilliant. If you are on a bit of a budget like we were, it's not an awful place to stay.

We were in the best spot everyone could be in Dubrovnik, almost inside the Old City, surrounded by restaurants, small supermarket , the beach and the main attraction that is the Old Town. Our room was small but clean and new. We didn't ask for the ocean view but was ok because we were out all the time. Edi is awesome! He gives you all tips, change your money if you need, sets things up for you as soon as you ask him and he is a very nice guy, very helpful.

It was not a pleasant experience to say the least. Apparently some people have the chance to stay in the best room(s?) with the sea view, but if you have to stay in his cousin kate or grandmother's house, good luck!
The rooms at his cousin Kate are not clean at all, there is dust everywhere.... It smelled not good because of the carpet... The doors are very thin and the wooden frame not solid, so we felt not very safe at night.
Edi, the owner, received us in his office/laundry room... He acted friendly upon arrival, told us where are the best places to go and eat etc... But nothing could compensate the fact that the rooms were so dirty, we would not even dare remove our clothes out of the suitcases. I don't want to know if the bed sheets were changed or not, but if we had a sleeping bag, we would have used it.
The price is definitely too expensive for the rooms we had, that's for sure!!
Anyway, i would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone, unless you like to play the lottery and take the chance to get the (only?) good room. But I suspect that only Edi himself get that room...
