“Edi makes it all so easy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2010

We stayed here as our son got married on one of the nearby islands. We had 3 of Edi's rooms, all with air-conditioning (a must in August) and two with the most fabulous sea views. The rooms are quite basic with a double bed,fridge,tea-making facilities and a table and two chairs so breakfasts are possible. There are two mini-markets within 100yds of the rooms. The location is possibly the best there can be as the rooms are just 60 seconds walk from the famous Pile Gate which is the main entrance into the old city of Dubrovnik. Edi was unbelievably helpful during the whole holiday, which is useful if you haven't been to Croatia before. We emailed and phoned each other before we went out there, so he was able to sort out a shuttle bus to pick us up and take us back to the airport (much cheaper than a taxi). He gave us maps and info on the best places to eat/visit etc.Everyone speaks good English so there are no language problems in Dubrovnik. If you're not looking for luxury, but just a clean, handy place to stay - you won't better Edi's rooms. Did I mention the rooms views - WOW!!!!

Well its not the Ritz! But at 56euro per night we didn't expect more. The location is lovely: right next to the Pile Gates and the view of the ocean crashing on the rocks is spectacular (thank goodness for double glazing).
Our room was basic, with a double bed, wardrobe and small table and chair and small fridge. Kettle and cups provided but no tea or coffee. Bathroom was adequate and clean, with one large towel to throw on the floor as a bath mat, and two others. The bed linen was 'interesting' with a multi coloured bedspread and red sheets which actually resembled a tablecloth! Still, the bed was firm and comfortable for us.
We were disturbed for some time by people walking up and down the stairs and talking and moving chairs in the room next door, but it eventually settled down.
Edi met us as we got off the bus and showed us to the room. He will answer any questions you want and is quite knowlegealble regarding his town.
If you just want a clean basic room, near the old town, with a great view then I recommend it.

I cant believe there would ever be a bad review about this place! I would recommend it to everyone I know and have been doing so. Edi is a fantastic host (great fun) who really aims to make sure his guests are happy. We stayed for two weeks in Edi's and we really felt like it was our home. The location is perfect- right next to the Old Town. We miss it! Highly recommend it!
