Great location.A short walk to port bus terminal and local buses to old city extremely clean with excellent air conditioning Extremely professional and helpful reception . Nice to have breakfast served for a change. Morning waitress very friendly and warm. One drawback was repetitive nature of menu. We stayed 5 nights and eggs every day was a little too much for us.. that said the omelettes were always freshly made as we wanted. If staying at this hotel consider buying the Dubrovnik card as it might be of value as it includes bustrips too but check wich museums you want to see. Some are not suitable for non english speakers. We foung a great pizza take away near the Rectors palace. Great value and tasty food.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view. Not towel only changed every 2nd day

Our stay in the hotel was an absolute delight. It was spotlessly clean, modern and the pool area was compact and quite private, an added bonus indeed. The staff were excellent, particularly Eva who could not have been more helpful. The fact that it is family run definitely made a huge difference and there was absolutely no language problem since the family are fluent English speakers. Although a little away from the main tourist area, the excellent and convenient bus service ensured easy accessibility. We would definitely go back!

We were very pleased wth this hotel choice, it's run by a local family and only has approx. 30 rooms so it's not like many of the large hotel chains in Dubrovnik. The room was very large with a huge balcony (with a beautiful harbour view) and very modern. It was possibly the most comfortable bed of our 3 week holiday. The hotel is a 30 minute walk from the old town but there are frequent buses that take 5-10 minutes. The good thing is that it is close to the bus station so it's very easy and cheap to take a bus to or from the airport instead of paying for taxis (which are expensive). The hotel has a small but perfectly formed swimming pool and also serves a good breakfast. Overall a great value option, would highly recommend!

Room Tip: Defintely take a harbour view room - the harbour is beautiful

We stayed in Berkeley hotel in Dubrovnik for 3 nights recently. We found the transition from the Dubrovnik bus station to be relatively quick and pleasant, it is a little over five minutes walk from the station.

We found the hotel itself to be very pleasent, the staff are helpful, rooms modern, clean and spacious and the swimming pool is an extra bonus. Unfortunately however the hotel is a fair distance from Dubrovnik's primary drawcard; the old town. Having said this though, there are frequent bus services going to and from the old town which is most convenient.

Breakfast is also offered for free upon booking which is a great bonus. Juices, bread, cereal and either omelettes or scrambled eggs are on the menu each morning.

Berkeley hotel is a good hotel that I'd certainly consider staying in again on my travels.

We are just back from one week staying at The Berkeley and the first thing to say is that the service is very approachable and friendly. There were three different girls on reception whilst we were there and all of them were polite, courteous, helpful and genuine especially considering that I fired a fair share of questions and requests their way.
I browsed some of the other reviews and feel that some of the negative comments are unfair or ill-judged e.g. someone complained that it is far away from the centre. I don’t see this so much as a fault of the hotel as a fault of the guest who didn’t check the location before booking. They also said that the centre is a 40 minute walk (it isn’t, it is more like 20 minutes). The entrance and the breakfast are fairly basic as others have stated but I think it is important to remember that this is a 3-star hotel, not a sprawling 5-star resort with tonnes of facilities.
Being on the edge of town was actually a plus for us because it meant that we were the last people picked up and the first dropped off for many of the excursions we embarked on, plus the main harbour is two minutes-walk away with boats going to more of the islands than from the port in the centre. The hotel is also located in quite a nice village on the outskirts of the centre with a fruit and fish market, supermarkets and shops and facilities all in close attendance. Most of which are preferable to the more touristy, pushy and pricey alternatives in the centre anyway.
Plus points for me were definitely the service I mentioned earlier, but also the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms that all feel more like homey Ikea catalogue promotions than some of the more tired hotel rooms I’ve stayed in down the years. Internet usage is free and the staff were happy to arrange anything I asked of them without fail which was great.
Overall, I can’t think of any reason not to recommend this hotel unless you are looking for a place with more facilities such as a gym or a tennis court which is what you get when you’re willing to pay 5-star prices but for my needs, it was perfect. Small, but nice, friendly, clean and very presentable.

If I absolutely had to pick out a gripe, I'd say that swimming pool was quite small but we spent most days swimming in the turquoise waters of the ocean anyway, so this wasn't a problem.

The hotel may not be rated as 5 star but our stay at the hotel certainly felt as though it was. This is a wonderful family run hotel with attention to detail. It is very clean, rooms are a good size with air conditioning. Staff are very polite, and knowledgeable and you can book excursions with the hotel and buy your bus pass at reception. They have plenty of information leaflets and access to the intenet is free in reception. Breakfast times were from 7-9.30 so suits both early starters and those who prefer a lie in. We enjoyed our tasty breakfast. The hotel is in a good location near the harbour and for access to busses, ferry and supermarket which are a few minutes walk. During our stay the hotel had a BBQ night which was free, a great idea and very generous of the hotel to do so....FOOD WAS FAB. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a memorable one, beat wishes Harjit Aujla & Andy Solomon, London

First the location: we thought this hotel was within a walkable distance from the Old Town, but it took about 40min (or 15min by bus). However the Central bus station is only 5min away, so it was good the next day when we took a bus to Mostar.
The entrance of the hotel has a "hostel" atmosphere, very basic and not overly comforting or welcoming, but the room was spacious, clean and modern. The beds were very good too.
The service was a bit nonchalant, but the lady who served breakfast was nice and friendly. Breakfast was ok - they will cook eggs for you if you have time (we didn't).
