“A pleasant hotel...”
Reviewed 14 August 2012

Upon arrival at this hotel late on Sunday evening, we were told there was a "computer malfunction". Around 20 minutes later we were told that there was no room available for us that night. However, they did manage to organise a night in another hotel which was very nice. We found out from another English couple staying at the same time that the same happened to them. We were given complimentary massages, a panoramic tour, and 50 euros to spend at the hotel as recompense. However, upon arriving back at the hotel on Monday morning, we had to wait another 30 minutes for our room to be ready (we'd been told it would be ready for us whenever we arrived on Monday morning) so essentially we wasted the whole of Monday morning.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

When you walk into the reception area it doesn't feel like you're walking into a 5 star hotel, although it is perfectly clean and functional.

Avoid the "garden view" at all costs. This is a complete joke. We had a view of a concrete wall opposite that was stained. If you wish to book at this hotel then make sure you get the sea view which is indeed very nice.

The hotel serves lovely food in the evenings and the breakfast is fine.

When you arrive in your room (eventually) there is a selection of fruit and a bottle of wine awaiting you. This is a nice touch. However, there is nowhere to drink your wine except your room. Fine if you have the sea view. We took the wine downstairs to sit by the water front, only to be told we couldn't drink it there (there is a hotel bar nearby) because of "house rules" whatever that means. Likewise when we took it upstairs in the hotel. So, our only recourse was to sit on our beds and drink it or sit on the small balcony and look at our "garden" view.

Room Tip: Sea view and **Not** garden view!!

We did not stay at the hotel, but we frequently went to The Cave Bar. The staff were lovely and the bar was great. We loved sitting inside the cave and also outside looking out to sea. The inside is much bigger than it looks with lots of great sitting spaces over many floors. The cave has been done out to create a great and relaxing space. We liked it so much we went there loads of times. The prices were really reasonable and there was no pressure to keep buying loads of drinks, we could just sit there with a cocktail or a cup or tea and play cards, or listening to music and chatting. Really lovely.

As a special birthday trip my wife booked the Hotel More, a beautifully located boutique hotel overlooking the Adriatic just outside of the olf town of Dubrovnik. We arrived before check in time after an early morning Easyjet flight to make the most of the 4 nights, 5 days we were away for and were checked in by the wonderfully helpful re"sea view" and on entering room 504, a large and beautifully decorated room, we approached the window for the breathtaking view and were presented with a close up look at 2 large trees, an American style fire hydrant and if you craned your neck sufficiently you could glimpse a glistening body of water, certainly far from a "Sea view".
Duly we complained and were assured that the hotel was full that night but we would be moved the following day, and true to their word we were moved to a spectacular room with a large balcony, a private Jacuzzi and an awesome view over the sea, the room was so good that instead of doing a ton of sightseeing we just spent most of the weekend in the Jacuzzi sipping champagne, what a treat. At lunch on that first day we spoke to another couple who had exactly the same story of having been offered a sea view room, also room 504 and also complaining and getting moved to a better room, in fact when we were shown room 504 this gentleman's clothes were still in the wardrobe awaiting moving.
The hotel food was gorgeous with a beautiful setting for eating and the "Cave" bar is a real special thing to see. The hotel is perfectly located not only for the view of the Adriatic, but a short walk takes you to plenty of bars and restaurants but you are not subjected to the noise of them and a £10 taxi ride takes you to the spectacular old town for sightseeing.
Would thoroughly recommend

Room Tip: If you have booked a sea view and they offer you room 504, complain and get moved

We spent just one night here on our way back from Montenegro. The hotel is slightly away from the city centre, a 70kn taxi ride. We really didn't mind that - it's a VERY comfortable hotel, big rooms, great bathrooms, decent food and a fabulous 'cave bar'. The cave was found whilst they were building the hotel. The hotel is on several levels, making it seem larger than it is. The pool is on a different level to the sea-front. Like a number of hotels in the area, the sun loungers are cramped into a small area, perhaps especially so here. Having spent a week without many other tourists in Montenegro, I was glad that we had just a day of cramped sunbathing here. My advice would be to head in to Dubrovnik Old City early in the morning (like 8 or 9) and come back here in the afternoon. It's not cheap, but I have absolutely nothing to complain about - a very pleasant stay here, looking straight out on to the bay.

We wanted to stay away from the crowds in the city of Dubrovnik and are glad we did at Hotel More. A very peaceful escape, but just a short, inexpensive taxi ride to the city walls. We were celebrating a special occasion, and were greeted with chilled champagne and beautiful flowers in our room on arrival. The room was spacious and had a balcony with a Kodak moment view! The views from the hotel are just breathtaking-nothing but sea, boats and a small island with a lighthouse. The cave bar is incredibly cool - with very friendly bartenders who are more than happy accommodate! We would highly recommend Hotel More and it's delightful staff!

Had a 10-night stay. Room, staff, food - all excellent. All the staff spoke very good English and the 'key people' were better than fluent.
The breakfasts were wonderful. Pretty well everything was on offer but if you had a particular fancy they would get it for you. The kitchen is in plain view - which is always a good sign.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a sea view.

I stayed at this new hotel in May and had a wonderful stay. The room was very clean and modern and had everything I would expect. Breakfast was very well stocked with plenty of choice. The hotel has a great cave bar and terrace at sea level where you can sunbathe, enjoy drinks or lunch and enter the sea for a swim. The pool deck on the 5th floor is small but there was always a lounger free and the hot tub was great with a view out to sea. The staff were friendly and the location is great. It was easy to exit the hotel on the restaurant level and walk along a scenic footpath to the town centre for drinks and meals. The only thing I would not recommend is the restuarant. We ate in it one night and would not do so again. Slow service and very average food.

Room Tip: Pick a sea view
