Peric Rooms and Apartments
Reviewed 22 May 2012

Just got back from Dubrovnik, and cannot find enough adjectives to praise the Peric rooms and apartments!! We had a twin room, and the view was simply breathtaking. The room was itself fairly small but perfect for our needs, spotlessly clean and tended too every day.It had also a TV and satelite system but to be honest all you wanted to watch was the world go by from your balcony!! A shared small kitchen was great to keep your refreshments in,or just make a cuppa! With WIFI available there too,it was easy to gloat back home with pictures etc! The Peric family could not of been better hosts,so friendly,we were barely through the door when cold drinks were offered, something that we got used to being offered EVERY time they saw us!! They pointed out places to go,eat, drink etc, offered to book us in to anywhere we wanted to eat,i simply cannot speak highly enough of them,it was really like going to stay with family!!! The Airport transfer i would definately recommend as a few Taxi drivers we encountered werent exactly sure where the apartments intially were, and with a one way system you may pay more than you need to!! That said, once again there, the Peric's gave us a card and that seemed to do the trick every time!! Yes the stairs could be an issue for some, there are many of them, but it is possible to walk up the roads back to your room and avoid them,so its not really an issue, and besides it gets you fit!! (easy to see why all Dubrovnik people are slim!!) But its worth it just for THAT view!!! In summary simple,go there, enjoy, you will not be dissapointed, cant wait to go back.............

Room Tip: There all rooms with a MAGNIFICENT view

I think Jim (previous view) has said it all for us, but it's worth supporting what he has said. We stayed in a room with a beautiful view of Lokrum. As we were not staying in an apartment we had a lower room, which was still very nice, perfectly clean and had everything to suit our needs. There is no breakfast provided ,that's fine with me, I can't face it in the morning anyway, but having a fridge in the room was perfect for us as it meant we could have coffee in the morning with milk. Again, need to point out, the climb is only for those who are fit/in good health. I'd rather stay here than in Lapad or in the hotels to the west of the city. The Peric family were very kind and helpful at all times. Parking was provided, but be warned the drive to the house is only for those with strong nerves as you will have to reverse down a driveway, that looks like a 45 degree incline, if you meet another car (not infrequent). Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for two nights in April 2012. We had a pick up arranged through the Peric and were thankful for this as our flight from the UK had a three hour delay. The transfer was quick and we were greeted with a friendly welcome and a much needed beer! The Peric appartments are located in Ploce overlooking Dubrovnik Old Town. The views are amazing and the rooms are clean, with a fridge, TV and plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom was a little small but again it was clean with clean towels. The rooms also have balconies that overlook the old town. Ideal for us as amateur photographers we had amazing views to snap, especially from the top floor. It was about a five minute walk down the steps to the old town but double this for the walk back up. There are quite a few steps back up but we found it no problem. A good opportunity to walk off dinner. I was glad I stayed here as the hosts were lovely and it gave the opportunity to see the Old Town from a different perspective.

Room Tip: Good shoes/trainers for the steps

This was our first stop on our visit to Croatia and what a great choice! The owners emailed the week before we visited and offered to collect us from the airport, this was much appreciated after a very early flight. One of the owners, Milan, met us at the airport and during the journey to the apartment (about 20mins) he gave us some good tips about things to see and where to visit.

When we arrived at the apartment we were shown to our room and offered drinks. There was a small kitchen you could share with other rooms which was handy, although we didn’t use it. Then the other owner (sorry I can’t remember her name!) came and showed us where we were on a map, told us how to get around and pointed things out in the old town…from our balcony which had THE best views! She also gave us a card with the address of it so we could show to taxi drivers if we couldn’t face all the stairs.

As others have mentioned, there are LOADS of stairs. We are both young and fit and we still found it a challenge but most of Dubrovnik is the same and it was definitely worth it for the views. Plus there are loads of taxis available at the entrances to both gates at the old town so if you really can’t take the stairs it is just a short taxi ride.

Another tip about the stairs – use landmarks! We were so keen to get down to the old town that we didn’t pay much attention to which stairs we came down so when it was time to head back we went up the wrong stairs and ended up a bit lost! We soon found our way but then made sure we paid more attention next time!

I would definitely recommend Peric Rooms, it was an absolute bargain for the amazing views and hospitality.

Warning... Don't stay here unless you are fit enough to climb over 350 steps from the Old Town. Which is the only minor point.

We stayed in one of the apartments with kitchen and balcony. The apartment has a large double bedroom, bathroom (with washing machine), kitchenette, living room/ dinning room and a large balcony with fantastic views of the Old Town and Lockrum island.

Overall the apartment is very well equiped. However it would benefit from having some basic cooking ingredients such as salt, sugar and oil. Despite this we would highly recommend it you do not mind the climb.

Excellent location, very clean rooms and lovely hosts. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea and Old Town. The owners were very friendly and helpful and also then left you alone to come and go as you please. Rooms have queen bed size, wardrobe, dresser and fridge with good shower facilities. Outside the room there is a shared kitchen area to make tea or coffee. Crockery was provided but not cutlery so take your own. Would definately recommend although you do need to be fit as approx. 350 steps to apartment from Old Town. Not an issue if you're fit and not carrying too much luggage. View is definately worth it though.

This place was recommended to me by RebekahB who's review is below and it didnt disappoint! the owners organised a transfer for us from the airport and we arrived to them taking our bags in and providing refreshments. The apartment we stayed in could sleep 5 and there was 4 of us so loads of room, the balcony was huge with THE most amazing views of the beach and port. They cleaned the apartment each day plus changed sheets everything was spotless in there with room for bags and seating too inside and out.

The only downside would be the steps from the beach/port. We counted nearly 600 from the beach to the door, but at the same time this provided the most amazing views which were breathtaking. You can keep fit by staying here at least! But it didnt prove too much of an issue for 4 girls in their 30's who are relatively fit to manage.

Definitely stay here, great value, friendly people and brilliant views. I would return.
