This has been a holiday to remember – listening by day to the cicadas and by night to the sea; it was all so peaceful, yet so close to the Old Town. The weather was fantastic and so was the pool - what a view! Evenings were spent dining around the Old Town (and in the hotel next door though that was probably the most expensive meal we've paid for in a long time!). We also ate in a few times as the villa at night is so inviting. I had work to do in the mornings and WIFI worked perfectly – it was actually easy to work in such a place! Luka's boat trip was the highlight (see T.A. review) and Niksa's help in arranging everything took out all the stress. He also helped us to get to a memorable concert in the Rector's Palace. We had a car (parking horribly expensive and not always easy to find free space outside) and this helped get up the coast to Ston and down to Cavtat of an evening. In short we do villa holidays every year but I doubt if we'll beat this for location and relaxation… it had everything we had hoped for in seeing the pictures! Thank you Niksa for all your fantastic help here and Croatian Villa Holidays for setting it all up from the UK…
I recently stayed at Villa Alisa as part of two couples and had a very pleasant stay.
The host Niksa was very helpful from the moment we checked in. He had no guests the night before so accommodated an early check in at no extra cost.
The Villa is situated perhaps a 15 minute walk from the Old Town. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, it is close to the entrance where they shot the legendary "Walk of Shame" scene. If you don't fancy the walk, an Uber will set you back approximately £1.50.
The views make staying here all the worthwhile if you haven't changed your profile picture in a while!
The second bedroom is smaller than the master room, but when you're in Dubrovnik, you're hardly going to spend time in your room. The pool was a lovely addition but was probably too cold to use for the week we was there.
The only issue was that by the time the fourth person went to shower, the hot water typically run out. I wouldn't normally even mention this, but the Villa isn't cheap.
There's some steps off the balcony as well that take you down to a secluded spot which is great for chilling out and photo opportunities.
Niksa was excellent and even organised a private boat tour of some of the islands for us with a gentleman called Luka. I would also recommend this.
In fact, I'm rather well travelled but this is by far the best place I've been to in Europe. I would thoroughly recommend Dubrovnik and I would happily tell friends and family to stay at Villa Alisa.
Incredibly beautiful place and especially the service
Mr. Niksa Grabovac, a true treasure.

We stayed Villa Alisa in July 2016 and had a wonderful week of solitude, with stunning sea views from this property perched on the cliff edge. Uniquely in its own private terraced gardens, completely secluded from the road and neighbouring properties. The villa also has it's own private (steep) steps down to the rocky sea shore where you can swim out and then under the property (it sits on top of a huge natural cave). We enjoyed the 20-25 minute walk into Dubrovnik old town which we did most days or evenings so a car is not necessary, and parking looked challenging! 10 mins in the other direction is a small beach and friendly cafe used by the locals. Again plenty of steps to negotiate, but a lovely sun and shade spot to while away a leisurely lunch. The Villa itself is well equipped, light and airy with efficient A/C, and with the benefit of its own pool. Only annoyance for us were the pesky mosquitos - but a small price to pay for such a unique property. Planning another trip in 2017.
