This resort is located in the area of Verudela, so it is right at the sea therefore making it optimal as a vacation spot. The hotel consist of two buildings, the main building has the restaurant, the pools and the spa and a gym etc, whereas the other building only houses the champagne bar. Our room was located at the second building, so it was quiet and calm, but of course that also meant no view of the sea directly. The room was simple, modern and clean. The pool area was very busy and the outside pool was tiny, inside (sea water) pool was a lot bigger. The gym had some of the oldest equipment I have ever seen and some of it broken, but we managed just fine. You can easily go and swim in the sea from the hotel and there are a lot of activities nearby, such as diving schools, tennis courts, a football field and pedal boats for rent to name a few. The city center of Pula is just a short bus ride away and the bus stop is not too far from the hotel, the buses pass the stop every 10 minutes or so. We had a small issue with our key cards on our second day, we were booked for 2 nights, something that the hotel was very much aware of at check-in, but seemed to have forgotten while preparing our key cards. On the second day when we came back to the hotel neither of our key cards worked so we were locked out of our room. The hotel tried to claim we must have somehow deactivated our cards, which I thought was pretty stupid as it was clearly their mistake. However, this was quickly fixed and after this they were also happy to have an iron sent to our room on my request, so I would still deem the service level rather good.

Breakfast, which was included in the price, was my favorite part of the hotel. There were so many choices, pancakes that were being freshly made, freshly baked croissants, plenty of fruit, cakes, french toast, yogurts, bread, eggs, omelets, bacon... you name it and they had it.

One thing to note is that while the lounge chairs around the pool are free to use, the lounge chairs at the water are not free. This we didn't realize straight away, as they seemed to belong to the hotel as well.

Good vacation hotel in every way, seemed to be very family friendly as well.

Have just returned from a week's all-inclusive holiday at this hotel. the location is fabulous with the majority of rooms having sea or harbour views. Rooms are a good size with a good balcony fitted with shutters so that you can avoid the glare of the sun when it is straight into your room. There is excellent wardrobe provision, modern bathrooms with large walk in showers. The rooms are tastefully furnished in restful neutral colours. The staff in this hotel are without exception helpful, friendly and keen to please at all times. Meals are buffet style, and there is always a wide choice to suit all tastes. The wines available on the all inclusive option are red, white and sparkling, and while one does not expect fine wines I do not think they are the greatest advert for Croatia's burgeoning wine industry.
There was musical entertainment each evening, the quality of which I would not care to judge, not being musical.
There are two swimming pools, a circular outdoor pool and a large indoor pool for those wishing to swim seriously. Both are sea water and spotlessly clean. There are plenty of sun beds and very helpful attendants arranging shade and numerous other wants.
The surrounding countryside of Istria is hilly, wooded and there are many quaint old hilltop villages to be found. The town of Pula itself is a short bus ride away and contains many historic buildings including a superb amphitheatre, and there is a large covered market.
Thank you staff of Park Plaza Histria for a wonderful holiday. My only reservation...please could you supply larger bath towels?

This hotel is a great example of a large and modern facility with all conveniences on site.

The hotel itself is located in a tourist village south of Pula town. The village is a conglomeration of hotels, apartments, sports facilities and a small shopping area with restaurants/bars. The area around the hotel is quite nice and the gardens are kept well.

The hotel has a bar and restaurant directly by the sea but it is 45 Kuna per day (about 6 Euro) to rent a bed however on a hot day the cooling sea breeze is worth it compared to the rather stifling conditions found around the pool. Pool side beds are free and towels are freely available and complementary. The hotel has excellent sunbeds with thick cushions and are very comfortable. There were plenty for everybody which meant putting put the towel at 8am was wholly unnecessary, at least in June.

The hotel facilities are comprehensive and it boasts a modern gym, spa and indoor pool as well as several bars. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly and all speak good English. There is an ATM on site as well. The champagne bar in the marina wing is a lovely place to stop and have a drink. The staff who work there were very nice.

There are only two adverse comments I could make about the hotel, the first concerning the room location and the second concerning the dinner arrangements.

With respect to the room, we had booked a premium sea view room or at least I thought I had. You should be aware the the hotel consists of two buildings, one facing the sea and the other facing the marina/car park (the marina wing). We were placed in a sea side marina wing room. The room itself was a good size and had a mini bar, iron, balcony, powerful shower and flat screen TV as well as the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel room. The toilet door was a sliding glass door which didn't offer as much privacy as you might like but what really irked me was the realisation that we were not in fact facing the sea, we were facing the marina. I did feel a little hard done by after paying extra. When I looked at the booking again (which admittedly came from a third party website) I noticed it was referenced as sea side, not sea view and I feel this is a little disingenuous as certain rooms do have proper sea views. At the very least the hotel should specify into which wing you are being placed.

The second issue isn't really a hotel problem more an issue on my part. While I accept it is a large hotel and has plenty of guests to feed in a 2 hour period, I found on the whole that the dinner (we went half board) was a rather functional affair. It is served buffet style in the room in which breakfast is served. I'm not complaining about the food which had a wide choice and was of good quality but the whole thing had an air of a school dinner with people crowding past each other to get to the ice cream. The waiters and waitresses were excellent at keeping the whole thing going by clearing and re-setting places but neither myself nor my wife really enjoyed the experience. However as I said our preference would always have been a more formal affair and perhaps others might see different.

The hotel doesn't organise excursions but there are guys walking around the complex who will offer trips. We went on one to Rovinj by boat and enjoyed the experience.

The hotel prices for drinks were actually quite reasonable although as you might have expected they were cheaper outside the hotel or in Pula town.

Overall, the hotel was a great example of a busy, large and well run modern facility with very good service-orientated staff but if I went back, I would make sure to request a sea view room in the main part of the hotel.

Room Tip: a sea side room does not necessarily face the sea. You might end up facing the marina. Request a "sea view" not "Marina View".

I've stayed in this hotel several time since it was renovated in 2012. Staff is very kind. My best recommendation are going to Ms. Aleksandra Ruzic (Bar&Restaurant) and Ms. Dragana (Front Desk).
Also, I was very satisfied with SPA. Girls who works there are really helpful and recipient.

Room Tip: Choose a room in Wing if possible!

The plaza historia is a very nice hotel. The rooms, reception and pool area are really good. The staffs are friendly and efficient. Our one gripe was the food. We only ate breakfast but the juice machine had a mind of its own and produced some weird concoctions. Also the fruit on offer was mostly tined with some whole fruit also available. Also the “fine dining” restaurant was closed (We were there 1st week in June). The main restaurant had a buffet style option for lunch and dinner. I would recommend the park plaza historia with the above caveat.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our rooms and the friendliness of our staff. On a more negative note, we are sad to know that our gastronomic offer wasn't satisfying. Thank you for brining to our attention the issues experienced with the juice machine, we have already solved the issue. Also, please note that apart from our dining options in the hotel, our guests have the possibility to dine in our splendid Yacht Club located few steps from the hotel.

We hope to have the possibility to host you anytime soon!

Kind Regards,
