the stuff is friendly and very nice to talk to. they helped us with everything we asked for. we stayed 3 nights and came back for another 2 nights and the manager offered the same price we had the first time (including the discount we had). excellent food, you should try the calamari - we were delighted of them. the waiter and service was excellent. although the room was small, we had everything we need, including air conditioning and a mini fridge and it was very clean. for the price we pay, we were very satisfied. just crossing the street you can swim in the sea (and is without rocks inside it) and stay on the promenade area. everything is looking exactly like in photos. the bus takes you in the center. if you want to try, you can have a trip on Kornati Islands, we were there at the recommendation of the stuff and was very pleased about the trip. I would return here anytime!

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 2 week holiday in Croatia and Bosnia.
The Hotel is average in almost everything but I gave it poor review because We experienced really bad discrimination & racism incidents!!! Very rude hotel manager. Food is ok but nothing special. Room was very small and dark, furniture was patched, the carpet in our room was stained.
We loved our short break in Zadar, it is such a lovely place to spend your holiday but we would never never recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!

Located in Diklo, a very picturesque quiet area of Zadar, easy to get to on the number 8 bus from the main bus station. (If you fly in to Zadar, use the airport shuttle bus to the main bus station and the bus stop is just outside of the bus station - door through from the information/ticket office. There are taxi's from the airport of course but I'm not sure how much they cost - 150kuna ????? maybe.

I stayed at Hotel Villa Nico with my granddaughter for a week in August 2013. We stayed in the budget priced rooms which are situated on the ground level under the restaurant so I cannot comment on the rooms in the hotel proper. Having said that, the room we stayed in, although small with a small window, had very good air conditioning, a fridge and digital TV, so for the price we paid, which included breakfast was extremely good.

The staff are excellent, especially in the restaurant both in the day and evening time. The food and service are very good. The views over the sea from the outside area of the restaurant are gorgeous.

As I mentioned before, the area is very picturesque, beautiful in fact. Hotel Villa Nico is literally 10 metres from the sea. Everybody swims off/sunbathes on the promenade. You can borrow beach towels and sunbathing mats from the hotel (free).

The number 8 bus service is every half hour (terminus stop 2 minutes walk from the hotel) and this takes you into town - 10 min bus ride, (get off at the Komzen supermarket stop), to walk over the bridge to the old walled town.

The Villa Nico decor I would describe as a little bit shabby/chic, over-the-top ornate for some people maybe but very nice for others - I liked it.

Room Tip: The budget rooms are situated under the restaurant so there is some noise (mostly tables and chairs...

We stayed here for two nights. The rooms are a little cramped but very clean and quiet. Nice to have a small fridge as well. Although it is a little out of the way it really didn't make much difference at this time of the year. The ocean view and walk way along the water is great. The staff and owners are very friendly and I do recommend the Nico Villa. See my note on the restaurant.

Great location, tasty food, really clean room with a magnificent view. Service better than in 5-star hotel. Staff really friendly and helpful. Definitely have a dinner in this hotel as they know how to prepare great national food. We will definitely return!

We arrived very late and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who show us the rooms/appartments which were better that we have seen around in Croatia. TThe location was great and we loved the peacefull location and clear sea water.

Breakfast was less than average.

Would definitely recommend.

Not a great location if your interest is seeing the old city of Zadar and you don't have a car (1.25 h walk or city bus). The staff we met were friendly and helpful. The hotel had a generally grimy feel. Furniture was patched, the carpet in our room was stained, some sort of Raid insect killer was left out on the coffee table when we arrived (not sure what kind of next it was intended for), there were holes in the wall by the AC with broken plaster around, and the bathroom could have used a wiping down. Not the kind of hotel you remember fondly.
