“Great location, hosts and room”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

We loved this place. Anri picked us up from the bus station and Griet greeted us with a fine assortment of nibbles and tea. Our room had a sea view-spacious and sunny. We had our own personal bathroom. Everything spotlessly clean. We had use of a fully equipped kitchen which was a bonus and although We only used it to make cups of tea, I noticed other guests used it to cook meals.
We enjoyed the walk into old town Zadar along the coastal path. We also enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and local supermarket.. We also hired bikes from them to further explore the coastline.
We were lucky enough to be there when Griet cooked a vegetarian meal one evening -it was one of the finest meals I have ever eaten -everything home made and home grown including the wine-and a great opportunity to chat with the other guests.
The hospitality from Anri and Griet was tremendous and I loved the homemade foods for breakfast.

We stayed at Bajlo for 3 nights in September and thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. Griet and Anri are a lovely couple who provide an excellent service in every way they can. Nothing was too much trouble- we got free pick up from airport, and were taken to the car hire place and the bus station for no extra cost. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful house and gardens which are so meticulously cared for. And to our delight Griet had prepared a platter of nibbles to welcome us.
I must add a note about the breakfasts as they are wonderful. All the food is so fresh and includes homemade jams, herbal tea and baked treats.
The house is about a 20minute walk to the old town along a quiet street that runs along the sea. I would suggest renting a bike which is available at a small cost and cycle in and out, as there are plenty of places to secure your bike just outside the walls of the old town.
The room and bed were very comfortable and peaceful- yes the bells do start at 6.30am but this did not annoy us too much!
Griet provided lots of helpful advice on what to do in the surrounding area and made great suggestions on restaurants and ice-cream places to try!
Hope to stay again sometime!

Room Tip: We had a lovely room with a seaview although noticed the next door room had a balcony so request it...

I had a great time at Villa Bajlo. Griet and Anri are charmant people, and as soon as I arrived I felt home. The room was very clean, internet was working perfectly and the villa is 3 min away from the beach. The surroundings are quiet and I slept like a baby during the night. I will definitely try to come back for a longer stay.

Just returned from lovely holiday in Croatia. Stayed at Griet and Anri's B&B in Zadar for the first three nights.

They provide fabulous service - collection from airport, and complimentary drinks/snacks on arrival! Rooms are fairly basic but very clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom. Great balconies, some of which face out directly to sea - gorgeous! Breakfast on patio in serene garden.

Very hospitable and generous couple, always ready to help in any way. Recommended.

Quiet spot - about 25 mins walk from old town, via lovely path alongside coast, where you can stop for coffee or drinks - fab!

Only drawback - beware church bells right next door at 6.30 every morning!

Room Tip: Choose the one with the balcony facing out to sea!

They know what they are doing. Everything is thought and in place. We were with our 7 months baby and they were great with her.
Quiet place, helpful and pleasant hosts, good healthy food, nice architecture, amazing garden...
It's a sure shot.
This place is not for you if you wanna party and make noise, it's more of a quiet and relax place.

This is a great place to stay in all respects. The home is beautiful, spotlessly clean and you will receive a warm and relaxed welcome, including drinks and homemade snacks! Nice little touches like a bottle of water in the bedroom. Location is a comfortable 20 minute walk to old town centre. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Nice living/dining area for guests. Griet and Anri are very low-key, friendly and helpful but not in any way overbearing

We rented bikes from them and took the ferry to nearby island for a relaxing daytrip (warning to casual bikers: the island is hilly!!). This b&b would be a good base from which to visit Krka Park as well as the very interesting and unique Sokalarski Centar (a rescue/rehab and educatinal centre dealing with birds of prey).

We arrived late in the evening to a warm welcome at this beautiful, modern B&B. Griet showed us around and gave us home-baked treats along with our choice of beverage. Once we got settled, Anri helped us adjust two of their bikes (available for a daily fee) to fit us and we rode the 7 minutes into the center of Zadar. It’s a 25 minute walk. On Griet’s recommendation, we had a great dinner at Pet Bunara in the heart of Zadar. After dinner we rode around the town before returning back to the B&B. The next day we again rode bikes into town and explored all the nooks and crannies of that delightful coastal town. Our dinner the night before at Pet Bunara was really wonderful, so we went there again for lunch the next day. That evening, we were lucky that Griet was preparing a meal for her guests. For 22 Euro per person, we enjoyed a fabulous vegetarian dinner and had a great evening in the company of the other guests, all from Belgium. Our room at the B&B was very large and comfortable. The rooms with a sea view were already occupied, but we could go out on the balcony and look at the sea. If you make a reservation, ask for a room with a sea view. The location is terrific and would be a perfect spot to stay for making day trips to other sites in this part of Croatia. We had a great stay and next time we make it to that area, we’ll definitely choose Kuca Bajlo again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view.
