I spent 3 nights here in a 4 person dorm room in August 2012. As our room was on the ground floor it was quite noisy at night but having read the reviews we brought earplugs and slept very well! Excellent air conditioning, constant hot water and clear bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helped us set up some day trips and gave us advice on places to eat/drink at night. Would definitely stay in this hostel again!

Got there in the evening. Very friendly owner gave us a room in a new part of the house which was still getting renovated. So we had an own room with 2 bunk beds and a bathroom. Reasonable price - 13€/person.

Pro: almost in the centre, night pubs are street or two away, very friendly owner, new looking furniture, clean, lockers for each bed, 1 minute walk to the sea
Con: noise from the street (pubs, remember; not a problem with closed windows)

A pleasant hostel right on the edge of Zadar old town, so a great stop from which to explore the city. Dorms are clean and comfortable, showers are good, staff friendly. No frills, but no complaints either.

Well because of the busy season and the spontaneous characteristics of my trip, I stayed at three separate hostel in Zagreb and visited a fourth. Of the four it was the most well priced for its location. (Check my reviews for the others if you are interested).

Pro: Fanastic air conditioning. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Great location in the old town and near quite a few fun outdoor bars like Kult and Zodiac. I <3 Zodiac. Fantastic HUGE lockers but thus no separate room keys. Kitchen. Pretty decent WiFi especially on lower floors. 2 minute walk to waterfront (yes you can swim there). 10 minute walk to a more traditional beach.5 minute walk to center square. 7 minute walk to the ferry/sea organ. 20 minutes to bus stop as mentioned before. Comfortable size. Don't remember it being loud.

Con: Staff aren't receptionists. They aren't there to organize your life for you (which is always nice when traveling). The "reception" isn't 24 hrs. A tiny bit hard to find. Hint the building is orange and its only accessible from one side. May be hard to meet people if you are traveling alone, unless you get lucky and people are cooking in the kitchen. (Hang out there!)

Stayed for 2 nights.
The hostel was very clean and has personal lockers in the dorms, but not enough bathrooms.
It has a very good location close to the water, good swimming from the "beach" walk.
Lots of restaurants and bars in the area.
Walking distance to everything in the old town.
20 minutes walk from bus station.
Air-con worked fine,WiFi in the reception.
Would stay there again if Iam in the area!

This is a very clean and well located hostel in the center Zadar's old town and within waling distance to the main attractions, with lockers and air conditioning in the rooms. There were few bathrooms, though. I had a nice stay in the 4 bedroom female dorm.

Spent a night at Hostel Elena before heading to Split on the next day. The hostel was what I was looking for: cheap, (very) clean and comfortable. Location was also good, near the main square. The only down side is that there isn't 24h reception, but it was not a problem for me. It has air conditioning in the rooms, which is a big plus.
