“Excellent place to stay and close to Krka National Park”
Reviewed 5 October 2013

we have just returned from two nights at Kalpic and we had a wonderful time.
Ivana and her family were fantastic hosts and we stayed in room #7 being one of the newer rooms which was wonderfully fitted out with great views of the surrounding countryside.
The dinner at night was fine as was breakfast. Sometimes people expect too much from a B&B in this part of Croatia and we were very happy with the meals and service and professionalism of our hosts.
the TV has about 400 channels!
Kalpic is a great place to base to visit Krka NP and the watefalls in particular - only a 10 minute drive.
We would certainly recommend people to stay at Kalpic and they can be contacted directly at agroturizam@gmail.com

Room Tip: stay in the newer part - such as room #7

The hosts are lovely but don't be fooled, you will be getting a real basic service. You may find this charming if you never been in a rural place, but rural should not mean basic. The towels given were tiny, more like a tea towel size than a bath sheet and hard as rock, the rooms clean but extremely basic with bad lighting, breakfast choice dismal (you get a choice of 2 cereals, a bit of bread ham and cheese every morning with the cooked option being an omelette with more ham, no choice of how you'd like your eggs cooked, or do you even like eggs?!) Ok for 1 night, but would not recommend a long term stay, just enough to see Krk then move on.

This is a dream location with the warmest welcome from Ivana and her family. The setting is picture perfect, calm and relaxing. The ground floor room we had was beautifully designed with a modern bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The room felt immediately welcoming reflecting the entire feel of the B&B. It was an absolute delight to wander around the gardens with the fruit trees and strategically placed tables, chairs and benches to relax on, have a drink and enjoy the sun.
We enjoyed a very agreeable evening meal with grilled meats and fresh salad from the garden accompanied by delicious freshly cooked bread. Wine was provided and a very satisfying dessert rounded off the meal for a very reasonable price. The breakfast was beyond anything I have ever tasted, fresh bread, homemade jams - especially the fig one - tiny sweet pancakes, cheeses and hams plus omelette hot off the pan....eggs provided by the chickens roaming in an enclosure to the side of the property. It was just terrific.
The B&B is quite close to the National Park, about 10 minutes away. You can get a free transport by ship to the Park which is outstandingly beautiful.
So if you crave peace and quiet, home cooking of a very high level and a welcome that you will remember for a long time, definitely find your way to Ivana's beautiful holding. We'll certainly find our way back when we visit Croatia again.

Room Tip: Had a sneaky look at most of the rooms and they were all great!

After two weeks sailing we spent two nights here. Very relaxing. Even before we arrived Ivana was welcoming.

The room was simply but tastefully furnished.

Meals were well cooked with fresh ingredients.

The hospitality we received would make this a place to return to.

We spent four nights at Kalpic and would happily have stayed longer. The whole family, in their various roles, are extremely hospitable and can't do enough for you; the ambience is one of total peace and quiet; while the meals are delicious (and mostly from their own produce). The rooms were spotlessly clean and well kept (though with rather small towels, if we're being picky), there's a charming garden area for sitting out with a glass of wine and a good book, and the location is a great jumping off place for sites such as the Krka National Park and Paclavica. Overall highly recommended.

My family and I stayed here for one night in August and had such an amazing experience. The "kids" all in our 20s and 30s stayed in the cabins and our parents stayed in a room in the main house which we dubbed the honeymoon suite.

This is definitely off the beaten path and is so charming and idyllic. Ivana (and everyone else) was incredibly gracious and such wonderful hosts. Ivana welcomed us with open arms and even made sure to find us before we left to thank us and say goodbye.

The b&b has a wonderfully rustic feel to it. The rooms are spacious and clean with en suite bathrooms. The beds were super comfy with nice linens.

The only suggestion I would make is to bring soap and shampoo/conditioner. There is soap for washing your hands but there isn't anything in the shower so it makes it a little tricky.

The dinner was absolutely amazing and quite the feast. We were served an excellent salad and then meats from the grill (traditional bell cooking) topped off with a superb dessert. And breakfast the next morning was also as excellent. They served these potato pancake things that I still dream about!

There is a fresh vegetable garden on the property and a family pet pig. There's lots of room to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of it all. It's also a quick 15-20 minute drive to Skradin and Sibenik.

After dinner we took a short walk and enjoyed the beautiful stars.

We chose this "agro" B&B as a transition stopover (in lieu of Zadar) from Dubrovnik via a Mostar, Bosnia day trip heading to Plitvice Lakes National Park! The B&B is just minutes from Krka National Park (also terrific) which we had visited earlier during our 10 day Croatian tour.

So no matter where you are headed stay at Agrotourism Kalpic!

There is a "brown" sign on the right turn to Kalpic after the Krka turn off (GPS does help). As you travel down the not so beautiful single lane road and mutter what is that guy talking about? Just "trust me", yeah right! Park outside the electronic gate, walk inside to be greeted by Ivana (e-vana) and her 2 dogs Cupe & Stela!. She will equip you with a remote to open the gate upon check-in!

Therein is a two-story stone accommodation (few rooms) near a series (4) of layered shale walled cottages (both the same price). We chose the two-story ground level with its designer bathroom, very comfortable bed and outside sitting area (wi-fi everywhere). Ivana's husband Ivo (e-vo) poured us glasses of her Father's home produced wine (very good) where we sat in the garden before dinner enjoying the setting.

For dinner (pork loin with bacon, uber fresh locally grown vegetables AND a simple oil & vinegar dressing of fresh greens from the garden which we perused. The secret to the tasteful salad was Ivana's Dad's wine vinegar. We bought a 1/2 liter to take home.

The evening stars are amazingly vivid!

The morning breakfast buffet consists of meats, cheese, omelet, pancakes, fruit, coffee, etc....to be enjoyed in the garden setting!

Just terrific kinda sums it up. Enjoy!
