“interesting monasteries”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

these are beautiful monasteries in the fruska Gora region. They are quite close to each other but you need a car if you want to visit them or you could go with an organized tour from Belgrade.

“amazing!!”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

this is very unexpected and definitely a must see in the Balcan region!!!
we visited 8 of the about 20 monasteries, some very popular but some rather unknown are very much worth a visit!
it is difficult to get English information, but in the very populare ones , you can buy a book with information
there are maps, but not for sale, so if you see one, make a photo of it, you can use when driving to another
be aware to be clothed decent: no naked shoulders, knees,... long sleeves and trousers are recommended for women an men

“Take the time to visit”
Reviewed 19 August 2013

We were only able to see two of the monasteries (Krusedol and Novo Hopovo), but visiting them was one of the highlights of our trip. The frescoes were breathtaking, and the history of the area is well worth learning.

“Holy mountain in Vojvodina-Serbia”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

Fruska Gora Monasteries are wonderful places to visit in Serbia. The area is not far from Belgrade airport , around 50 km by highway to the west. Leaving highway - exit Ruma.
The best way is to use professional guided tours. If you like monasteries and history that is the right place to visit. You will need at least full day. Also during visit enjoy in nice village restaurants and vine house with excellent vine. the area is one of the most famous for vine production in Vojvodina province of Serbia

“don't miss it !”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

like Elizabeth88, once in Novi Sad,
I have had the chance to make a tour of Fruska Gora Monasteries (5 ) and made a stop to discover the serbian''Bermet'', very special aromatic wine, and to experience their honey ''sesame flavored''...hhhh at the Zivanovic's, plus a stop in a farm with very sympathetic guests where we can eat the meal of the day outside under the trees in a memorable setting !
I warmly recommand to get in touch with this very sympathetic guide - grada365@gmail.com - if you want to enjoy this essential part of the Serbian patrimoine in a splendid nature, you will never forget.
Nature-History-Art-Tasting- and sharing-- a complete human experience!
