“Wonderful modern apartment with sensational fjord views.”
Reviewed 19 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

The apartment is modern and spacious but the real usp is the sensational views offered over Kotor and it's bay. The apartment building is attractive and in good condition. The pool is a nice size and offers equally spectacular vistas of Kotor Bay. You can also walk in 5 mins to the bay's shoreline and swim from the local swimming jetties which is a pleasant experience. Kotor itself is some 1.5 kms away, and a walk of approx 25 mins if you are without a vehicle. This is fine in the day but as the road is quite narrow in places can be a little intimidating at night (we frequently used taxis - but these are relatively cheap and frequent). The nearest local amenities are about 1 km away (small shops and bars).

The location is quite peaceful and semi-rural and we didn't have any issues with noise drifting across the bay from the large cruise ships in the harbour or from central Kotor that other guests have mentioned. The apartment facilities are good, but the decor a bit minimalist for our taste and perhaps lacking a few home comforts. We welcomed the fact that the mountains behind the apartment blocked the afternoon sun after about 5 pm (as temperatures were in the high 30s for most of the week we stayed). This also meant we could take advantage of the balcony's views at this time. The balcony furniture was very attractive and comfortable.

“Stunning Views”

We were met at Dubrovnik airport was our taxi driver and taken to this lovely apartment (arranged by the rental agency who look after this apartment). We immediately settled in and went for a meal at Ladovina - about 15-20 mins walk towards Kotor. Lovely meal and can be recommended. The apartment is spacious with modern minimalist decor. The views from the balcony were mesmerisingly beautiful as you watched the many different ships and boats arrive daily. The nearest supermarket is about 20 mins walk away - turn right on the road. Clean and tidy with clean towels after 5 days - we stayed for 10 days. We did not hire a car and managed to see Budva & Herceg Novi on the bus from the bus terminal in Kotor, again about 20 mins walk towards Kotor. At the roundabout near the supermarket turn right. Buses frequent and cheap. We also did a boat trip to Perast and The Lady of the Lake - 15 Euros each. Very good day out. We loved Perast, not fussed on Budva. This was our first trip,to Montenegro and we hope to return again. Loved the people, food and ambiance of Kotor Old Town. We received very good service from Heather & Luke as well as the rental agency they use. The pool was a lovely place to sit and relax after sight-seeing. Nearly forgot, the walk along the walls is one not to miss and the whole area is lit up at night. Stunning. The return taxi took us straight to the door of our 7 day rental in Cavtat, Croatia. For,information, Cavtat was much more expensive than Montenegro - double in fact. Tivat airport is not far from Kotor and would be a better option than flying into Durbrovnik.

“Beautiful view, reasonably priced, but ...”

Check-in and finding the place was easy as we were provided with good directions and the agent of the owners (Marina) was there when we arrived (as she requested we texted her after we crossed the border from Croatia as she lives about an hour away from the apartment). She was very nice, explained things adequately and even helped us with a restaurant reservation.

The good news is that the apartment is quite spacious, was clean and is certainly very reasonable priced. The views of the old town and across the bay are quite magnificent and there is a nice deck to sit and enjoy the view from. The location is nice - quiet neighborhood, but beware it is a 20-25 min walk to the old town.

On the other hand the apartment was very plain - very minimal decor. Also beware that the parking is behind the building with a very tight and narrow access and a very narrow assigned space - so bring your tight parking skills.

Of significance to us was the fact that the wifi was very slow or nonexistent, which was a very big inconvenience for us as we work when traveling. The agent later explained that they only have one router for multiple apartments which may be the cause. Nevertheless to say this place has wi-fi would be a stretch at least based on our experience.

There must have been little children staying or living in the apartment directly above as there was constant noise of someone running back and forth, moving furniture and screaming, though it was ok later at night, presumably when they went to sleep.

It was also an inconvenience that some basic stuff like extra toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing soap, laundry detergent, salt were not provided (or had been taken/finished by previous tenants and were not resupplied before we arrived).

P.S. In terms of restaurants in Kotor, we really liked Galion - more expensive than others but it can't be beat in terms of views, decor, quality of food and service. For a more casual less expensive option, try Cafe Ludovina.

Management Response
16 Oct 2016
Dear James,
We are glad you enjoyed your time in Montenegro.
We apologise for the lack of high speed wifi. The repeaters are failing so we are in the process of upgrading by the end of the year.
We do not advertise that any basics (paper towels, dish washing liquid etc) are supplied so we are confused as to why you thought they should be there.
Warm regards
Luke and Heather (Owners)

“Stunning views from a modern apartment”

This apartment offers truly fantastic views over entire Kotor bay. The modern building is in good overall condition, and offers a sound level of comfort. Good prospects for swimming -- the sea (with locally typical swimming jetties) is some 150 meters away, and the pool offers basically the same views as the apartments. The plot is beautifully laid out, and parking is well organized. Central Kotor is some 1.5 kms away, and the road is quite narrow in places -- requires traffic attention, but is easy in general. Basic services can be found relatively close, within 1 km.

The location is peaceful as such, but evening music from central Kotor over the bay, and from cruiser ships in the middle, sounds into the building quite loudly. Thankfully it does not last all through the night, usually until a bit past midnight. Mountains in the Southwest block the afternoon sun after about 5 pm, which is either a relief or a discomfort -- depending from one's point of view!

“Beautiful views and great location”

We had never been to this area before and were so glad we choose this apartment in Muo. It's a pretty village with one shop and cafe but just 15 minutes walk from the old town in Kotor, so the best of both worlds, and an easy coastal drive to other great places like Perast. It has a lovely pool (unusual in the area), shared with a few other flats, which is not huge but clean and has a nice sunbathing area. The apartment itself is a 5 minute walk up a steep hill and has fabulous views of the bay from the balcony. The sea is very still, like a big swimming pool, and in July it wasn't too busy. There are all the facilities in the apartment to make basic food, and it's not luxurious but very nice and modern. We just used one room, but the only thing to mention is that the second bedroom does not have its own air conditioner and relies on the one in the lounge, so at the height of summer you might want to ask for an extra fan. We'd definitely stay here again.
