Large collection of Romanian and European works. Setup is classic and not so inspiring for youngsters or children. No multimedia or audio guides. Only....'paintings' .

The palace has a collection of 18th C furniture, two fine portraits of St Ignatius Loyola and St Francis Loyola by Paul Rubens. There are two fine Bruegel paintings, a fine Jan van Eyck, along with a number of 19thC Romanian artists. The building is also a worthwhile place to visit.

Well worth visiting for the exhibits (paintings, furniture, etc.) and its fine and elegant interior. We went in as a group and the entrance fee was included in our tour around Romania.

Just imagine stumbling across a fantastic Breugel painting (Massacre of the Innocents) in rural Romania! This is a real gem of a museum - not only the Bruegel, but so many other world-class works.
In one wing of the museum there was an excellent exhibition of dance cards - used by women to record to whom they were promised for each dance of the evening at a ball. A fascinating piece of social history.
You've be mad to miss this museum!

It costs next to nothing and is just a treat when you're wanting to get off the road. I spent an hour playing dress up!
