This museum is minutes away from Sibiu center and it is a treasured collection of different aspects of farm & pastoral life going back centuries. The museum is in open air, over a large park area, well mane cured & maintained. It covers two lakes an two streams courses, not too far from Sibiu zoo. You can opt on a visit by foot or you can rent a horse carriage or electric tricycles. There is a restaurant on the premises, though the fares were mediocre at best.

Is worth a visit if you have some spare time although I personally wouldn't prioritise it over learning the history of the city and the attractions there which we visited first. Is an interesting place and a lovely walk on a nice day as the complex is huge. Kids would love it here. I though it was a shame that you couldn't go in more of the houses which would have improved the experience. There was a nice little pub/restaurant which we escaped out of the rain to serving Romanian food which was nice.

I thought this was something that I could see as I walk around the city center. It's not. You need a car to access the sights. Confusing from the online reviews and map. Apparently they are reorganizing the exhibits currently in the town square.

Fascinating place. Enormous. Items well signed in English. Good reasonably priced restaurant. Easy to get to by public bus from Sibiu.

You should add an entire day of your schedule to visit the entire complex. It is a great way of finding out how Romanians lived, built and worked in the past. I was fascinated by the water mills, houses and churches. I have seen some of the best preserved wood paintings in the two churches that they have managed to get into this project.
