this is actually the former city hall. Now it works more like a museum and a place to learn about Brasovs history. It's opened every day so you can visit it. It has a functioning clock and the bells are being pulled everyday at noon and at midnight. Somethimes, i dont know the exact time, some people wearing the old clothings from the early 1800 and they sound the trumphets. Its surounded by a square with a fountain where you can enjoy the sun.

“Great overview of Brasov history.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2012 via mobile

Well worth the 7 lei. The exhibits were well laid out and informative. Even though only about halve had English translations put on as an afterthought. Great pictures and exhibits of how the guilds were such a big part of establishing the middle class in Transylvania. Made me come back and research Transylvania and Romanian history.

The City Hall is situated in the center of Brasov and it can't be missed (situated in the Main Square, next to Black Church).

“If you visit Brasov you will probably pass by it - so why miss it”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

Located right in the main square of the city, Piata Sfatului, you will probably pass by it if you visit Brasov. If you're into history, this is the best place to reconstruct the life of the Brasov inhabitants, dating back in the middle ages. And this and the location made me rating it so high.
The entrance fee is very small, as far as I remember less than 1 EUR.

“Beautiful landmark building, but so much history inside”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2011

The City Hall dominates the view in the City Square. The building dates back to the Middle Ages, and the museum inside is well worth the visit. They have paper records dating back to the 11th Century, so it is possible to construct a view of what people were doing in Brasov through the ages. We were absolutely fascinated with discovering the history, and also at how friendly and helpful the attendants were. If you visit Brasov, don't be content with drinking coffee in the Town Square, go ahead and discover the history within the City Hall.
