Most of what I would say has been covered in recent reviews. We had a fabulous two weeks here July/August 2014, and I would recommend the hotel without hesitation. The staff are fantastic and we loved the food.
I would suggest you take your own beach towels to supplement those provided which are quite small, and take your own shower gel/shampoo.

We have just returned from 10 fantastic nights at the Scheherazade hotel, and from the second you step off the coach to the sight and sound of the hotel staff clapping your arrival with Tunisian music playing from the speakers you just know it is going to be good.Upon arrival in reception you are greeted with a cocktail and chocolate ice cream, and after filling out a short immigration form you are handed your room key cards and 2 cards allowing free beach towels for the duration of your stay.Upon entering our room we were surprised to see two bath robes neatly folded on the bed, rose petals scattered over the dressing table,a complimentary bottle of wine, water and coca cola placed in the fridge and a bowl of fruit on the side.In the bathroom there were rose petals again scattered around the sink area and a towel folded in the shape of a heart and one in the shape of a swan, all lovely touches.Every room has a sea view so you can wake every morning to a beautiful sun rise over the sea.The rooms are spacious enough with plenty of wardrobe space. The food in the restaurant was excellent and they had a different theme every night ranging from Mexican to Italian always with plenty of choice and piping hot.The pool area is spotless, with plenty of sun beds no matter what time of the day you turn up.The pool attendant/life guard is very good and as soon as he sees you turn up he brings a mattress for the bed and also a pillow. The pool bar serves drinks from 10 am to 5 pm ,with beer, wine slushes, soft drinks and hot drinks to choose from. The pool snack bar also served lovely snacks at lunch time(i particularly liked the chicken Lebanese). The beach is lovely and clean and with security guards at either end of the beach to keep away any non hotel guests so you are never bothered by beach sellers. There is also a good variety of water sports available should you wish. The evening entertainment is varied with a fire show down on the beach,to a belly dancer and acrobats around the courtyard pool.Every single member of hotel staff be it a cleaner, waiter ,barman or gardener will find the time to acknowledge you, they are so friendly. But a special mention must go to Hedi the customer relations manager who will walk around the pool most days with his notebook asking every single guest how there holiday is going and if there is anything he can do to improve it.He is known as the Gok Wan of Tunisia and he is very funny, and whilst we were there both himself and the hotel deputy general manager did a dance at the pool side and then jumped in both fully clothed in their uniforms. As you will read from other reviews this is a fantastic hotel with fabulous staff and both my wife and myself cannot wait to return again next year.Thank you to every member of staff at the Scheherazade Hotel for making our holiday so perfect.See you again soon.

What a fantastic place to stay, it was our 30th anniversary and how special did we feel, thanks to Wadji, Amine and all the other waiters who kept our glasses full at lunch and dinner sitting in the corner outside. The food was out of this world, thank you chef for giving me the recipe for your apple crumble it was delicious. This was one of the most relaxed holidays that we have had. Sitting here writing this review when we only left the hotel yesterday still thinking about the lovely send of from Hedi and some other staff makes me want to be back with you. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. All the staff from cleaners, waiters, pool boy's, gardeners etc. were always friendly and would do anything to help. Thank you all. See you next year xx

Room Tip: We stayed in room 720 this was far enough away from the restaurant and the entertainment so did not...

We returned to the couples for a weeks holiday on 23/07 and we thoughly enjoyed our holiday again. Many staff remembered us from last year and we were treated to steak meal and VIP drinks.
We saw more entertainment around the pool this year, more special sun beds, and the surrounding areas being in bloom.
Again staff were excellent, always go out there way to help you, BIG mention to Ramzi at courtyard bar, remembered our drinks from last year and always very helpful, the pool boy excellent service also maids waiters etc etc.
Themed nights , meals breakfasts, always something for everyone.
Our only negative to our holiday was being diverted to Gatwick as there was an incident on our flight.
We will def return again.

WE arrived on 6th July for 2 weeks, our first visit to Tunisia, on arrival at the airport, it was a bit of a shambles (we went with Thomson) do clear directions but eventually found a Thomson rep who gave up the usual hotel paperwork and told us find the coach outside (easier said than done) beware of the porters who want/demand £1 each case or back just to put them in the coach!!!. On arrival at the hotel things were certainly different, we were welcomed by the staff clapping and serving drinks (not at the same time). We were initially concerned as the hotel was smaller than we anticipated, but was very clean and we were booked in very quickly. Our room (827) was away from the courtyard and was very clean. The staff at this hotel make your holiday, nothing is too much trouble, the food was excellent lots of choice and very fresh, themed evenings were good, restaurant staff were excellent, the courtyard pool was the smaller of the 2 and was very clean and relaxing, and always had sun beds available, the larger pool was where the activities were taking place and was a lot busier. We tried the Indian restaurant and to be honest was not impressed by the food there and much preferred the buffet restaurant. The beach was very clean but we enjoy swimming but the water was quite dirty and lots of power boats etc close to the beach. The staff - we had one bad experience on arrival at the hotel, advised our rep and heard nothing. But the staff who are about everyday, waiters, bar staff, cleaners, room staff and last but least the pool man, he was so dedicated and ensured that the pool was spotless every day. Entertainment - well very disappointing, some nights they had dancers, sand artist etc all well worth seeing but as for the resident singing duo 'Lowell Lane' however was awful. This really needs to sorted. During the week we were there many of the hotel guests complained about them but we were told that for every 1 that complains there are several who like them, however, we could not find them, it may sound harsh but they are really bad. As paying guests we did not want to listen to songs being destroyed as they usually forgot the words and/or tune! The girl was ok but she lacked the confidence and voice, and as for the boy was weak and made us feel very embarrassed for them. His guitar skills (or strumming!) was poor also. Management - Hedi what can we say - he would be an asset to any organisation this hotel is lucky to have him. Would we go back - yes we would but perhaps just for a week. Best wishes to all staff from Mr & Mrs Cake xx

I've never written a holiday review but felt compelled to after having such a fantastic stay in Tunisia. We returned on the 30th of July and stayed in room 812 on the top floor. This is easily the best hotel I've stayed in and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, friendly, clean & beautiful hotel with the best hotel staff I've ever encountered. It was our 1st wedding anniversary while we were there & the staff made us feel very special. I travel a lot with my job and have stayed in several hotels throughout Europe, China, West Africa and the USA - the staff at Couples Sousse are by far the best I've dealt with. Often I'm ready to come back to the UK after 2 weeks but not this time. Me and my wife were genuinely sad to leave.

The food is fantastic and the waiters work incredibly hard - Ramzi and Raidh took care of us for the whole two weeks. We had a massage on the beach and the guy wasn't pushy at all and it was great value for money. Also, the guys who work around the pool / beach serving drinks and collecting glasses are wonderful. There was a very young guy who collects glasses who really took care of us and is a credit to the hotel - unfortunately, I can't remember his name but he can stack the glasses REALLY HIGH! Our room were cleaned every day and looked 'as good as new' whenever we returned in the early evening.

I know some reviewers have criticised the bathroom - ours was clean, we had fresh towels & everything worked. The walls are 'clay coloured' however I have no complaints. Also, how long do you spend in the bathroom when you're on holiday?!! I'm more interested in sitting on the balcony looking out at the Med, strolling down the private beach or relaxing in the two lovely bars.

We have been going aboard once / twice a year for 12 years & this is the only place we're ever considered going back to the following year. We'll be hard pushed to find anything better.

We booked up to go here as we wanted to have a nice romantic peaceful holiday without the sometimes disturbances you get from family hotels and boy oh boy we struck gold. On arrival we were greeted with staff dancing and clapping confetti spraying and we were taken straight down to the dining room to eat as it was 11pm they had kept the resteraunt open to accomodate our arrival. Once we ate we completed the arrival form and went back to the reception where we were given a cocktail and cold towel and then handed a pack which contains two rooms keys two towel cards and 2 free wifi codes which last 7 days. Just ask for more if you need them during your stay.

Every room overlooks the sea or gardens some both. The rooms are spacious with large beds 32 inch tv with many british channels. Also a mini fridge in the room and this contained a complimentary bottle of water and coca cola upon arrival.

The food is the best weve ever eaten at an all inclusive always fresh and hot and plenty of choice even for fussy eaters like me. I never got bored of the food. If you love a full english this wont be for you but loads of cereal toast cakes and omelettes I especially loved the pancakes and doughnuts mmmm

The main pool area is where the activities are like aqua gym and water polo and hedi (GUEST RELATIONS MANAGER) struts his stuff he is hilarious and will do anything to make your stay excellent he is like gok wan.

I could go on forever about how good this place is my only suggestions I would recommend an area by the beautiful beach at night with an open bar for me that would have been brilliant I didnt care about watching the entertainment (IT WENT THROUGH A LOT OF CHANGES DURING OUR STAY THE RESIDENT DUO QUIT SOME PEOPLE WERE BEING VERY HARSH TO THEM ON HERE SO I GUESS THEY HAD ENOUGH). sitting listening to the sea sipping cold beer would have been awesome....All the staff were smiley helpful and polite tip them well they dont earn a lot and 20 dinars (7 pound) makes the world of difference to them so they will ensure your looked after in the drinks department... see ramzi in the scheherazade bar he was so nice and helpful to us answering our questions and setting up the shisha for us i hope he gets employee of the month

I can tell you how good this place is 1 couple there were supposed to leave during our first week as their holiday was over and they were still there when we left they just wouldnt leave it was that good.

being a couples place you can either just stay in your own peaceful company and have a great time but im so glad we did the massage and met a great couple and made good friends with them making the time even more fun cant wait to go back next year already
