The architecture was great and the area around the Kasbah was very atmospheric. If you want to get back down to the Soula shopping centre (where there are lots of taxis for hire) go down through the streets of the Medina rather than the main road - the main road is dusty, dirty and a bit overwhelming with communal taxis vying for your custom and some really difficult parts where you have to walk in the main road

Mystery, fascination, colours, myriad of aromas, sounds and sights, cobbles and copper, artists and craftsmen, fresh fruit juices and beautiful patisserie, perfume essences call for prayers

visited the medina in sousse with my wife and daughters.
traders have no manners.very rude and tried chatting up seducing my daughters who are only 13 years and 12 years.
they beg you to come into their shop and have a look.
but they wont let you get out again without buying.
they chase you down the street and call you back to their shops.
if you dont buy they swear at you in their own language.
and tunisian men seem to think all western women come to tunisia for sex from tunisian men.
they believe theres shortage of men in england.
my wife was approached by ugly looking tunisian men few times asking if she wants a friend although i was with her.
tunisia is lovely country but the men are revolting.and desperate enough to approach married women and underage girls.
