“Worth visiting”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

That was a well spent evening in Tunisia. My tour in Alzahra Parc started with the Treasure Gallery which led us to the The Berber Encampment. You'll see the Bedouins tents there, their animals and discover a sample of their everyday living. When reaching the dromedary, expect a guy with the camera who will give you some food to give to the dromedary. Purpose - to snap you a photo, which later can be bought by you - price 3 DT. Next - a show of a tunisian wedding with with music and dancing, equestrian vaulting etc. Later, a tunisian dinner in the "Alzahra" Restaurant - again, with a great show of music and dancing. If you're entertained enough you can join the actors on the stage. Well, I did :))
But the best part of the evening is the Sound and Light Show - 3000 years of tunisian history told with light, water, fire and music. Actors and animals play the historic scenes with water and a great wall behind them - this wall is a great screen for the fantastic illumination and colorful pictures completing the story. It gives you an awesome feeling of being in the center of this interesting show. Oh, fun fact: you'll watch this at night so remember to look up in the sky and you'll see some shooting stars :) Really.
Enjoy :)

“Enjoyable and good value”
Reviewed 9 April 2013

We booked this through Thomas Cook and found the price not bad as it included an hour long journey on an air-con coach, being picked-up from the hotel mid-afternoon and not returning til 10:30.
The park is in the open air with lovely views and has various areas to wander around - animals, Tunisian dancing, horse-riding tricks (amazing!), musicians, photos taken feeding camels from your mouth (if you want - and no pressure to buy at the end). Then off to the dining room fronted by a stage, for a 3-course meal with bread and free water, wine and soft drinks. The food is served in large bowls onto your table where you help yourself. Very rustic (especially the cutlery and plates!) but palatable - not sure children or fussy eaters would be impressed though. Music and dancing accompanies the meal culminating in audience participation by some on stage at the end.
After this it is off the the open-air arena where there are free blanket-like robes for those who feel chilly and straw mats to sit on to protect your bum from the coldness and hardness of the concrete seating tiers. Then a sound and light show with laser lights and actors/horses lasting for about an hour showing the history of Tunisia. Although good, it was slightly annoying that you had to hear everything 3 times (in different languages). Otherwise the show would have taken half the time. Again, I dont think it would capture children's attention for long.
Afterwards it was back to the coach via an area with the evenings photos on display (3 dinars each) and down a wide corridor with stalls selling various local souvenir-type wares.
Good trip and well-priced we thought.

“good trip but you can diy it”
Reviewed 9 October 2012

We did not book through our rep as i emailed them before i left uk . the entrance price is 35 dinar about £14 an adult with dinner and light show or 20 dinar for just show itself . We left hotel went to entrance and had a barter with a taxi driver and got the return journey for 50 dinar about £20 what we paid after we arrived back at hotel saved money and time as we did not have to wait for everyone to get on bus then do a tour of sousse hotel before the got to ours. So if you base this on four adults rep or excersion company price will be 70 dinar (£30) or diy it works out at about £19 per person total saving around £44 . Anyway on to the trip we left hotel at 5.20pm as it opens at 5.30pm to give you time to look around the grounds meet some of the animals and people who take part in show . on the way our taxi driver was telling us things about the places we where going through and things your tour rep wont tell you but was all good, arrived at park greeted at the barrier think the security at it found it strange that we did not come on a bus group but said i emailed a can pay at door so no bother that way. we drove up and met by a second man payed given a ticket on this it tells you doors to go through for meal and the show. dinner was served first soup and bread and also a small plate of diffrent finger food and salad. At the main meal the groups where given big bowls of everything just thrown free for all . in it we where given our plate already dished out with chicken, cous cous ,boiled potato ,cabbage, carrots and waiter came round with gravy and during this time the dancers on the stage area with the meal show. the finally melon and grapes for afters, wine and soft drinks are as much as you like. . The main show we went up stairs then through door b on way the wife got a henna tattoo cost was £4 i got a can of coke cost 50p . sat down in show was given a headset then the show began . the laser effect was good with the lights water and also fire effects with actors, dancers and animals sometimes that much going on you did not know what way to look. showing the 3000 year of tunisian history . well worth the money and even more well worth it if you diy it
