Stayed two weeks at the hotel and overall had a fantastic time. The hotel catered for all ages with there being 3 different bars to spend your evening. The salon bar had no entertainment most nights and the bar staff were a little rude, the lobby bar had a man playing a piano great for the older clientel whilst outside the beach bar and main stage where the busiest, occupied by mainly young children and aged 20-40 couples. The drinks were a little strong so id recommend mixing with a soft drink! Also, there was not alot of choice on all inclusive although you could get cocktails. The room was alway kept clean with towels and sheets changed daily, however the air conditioning unit could be faulty at times. The food was nice and varied and there was alway something to eat anytime of the day with the beach bar offering a menu to order from outside of meal times. The highlight of the holiday was the excellent animation team, Rico, Timo, Bibo, Laska, Fifi and Jo. They made you feel welcome and comfortable at all times and even after working long hours from 9am until midnight they always took the time to come and have a chat with you after their shift! I honestly have never met a nicer group of people! They put on lots of activities in the day as well, water polo, archery, arabic lessons, water areobics, darts, but they never pressurised you to join in if you didnt want to. Overall brilliant and animation team deserve a pay rise!

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are lovely A little tip goes a long way

We booked this holiday to Tunisia because we could fly from Glasgow. We looked through the brochure and all looked good. Checked it out on tripadvisor and looked better. Time went on and some bad reviews came up. We started to get worried, but we shouldnt have

We arrived at the Marhaba Beach Hotel at the check in, and our bags were whisked to our room. We filled out the appropriate forms, our welcome drinks and our holiday started.

The staff at the reception and the waiters at the lounge bar were all dressed smarted. A quick smile at the direction of the staff was quickly beamed back at us. The hotel was very clean, and so was the room when we arrived (and for each day of the holiday). We were given fresh towels daily, and if needed extra we mentined it to the reception staff and it was delivered for us.

The food in the restaurants was plentiful and varied with local tunisian dishes. If you are looking for good old british food, stay at home. Our first meal at the main restaurant, we were directed to a table which we spent the rest of our holiday at. Our waiter for the duration was Lofti and he could not have been more helpful. We introduced ourselves, told him what drinks we liked and that was it for the whole holiday. As soon as we were spotted, our drinks were on the table and extras when it looked as if we were nearly done. For his good service, we tipped him a couple of dinars a night. It was a sad night when we had to leave him with the dreaded flowers on the table. We have stayed at other All Inclusive hotels, and have tipped for good service.

Zak, the Tour Rep for Thomsons, informed us about all the excursions we had to offer and made them sound really great. Our intention was to do one but his description of the tours sold us on the two more. One of them involved stopping at a 5 star hotel. This hotel that we stayed at was of a lower standard that the Marhaba Beach. Taps falling off, no toilet paper, ants in the room, faulty aircon. This never happened to us at the Marhaba Beach.

The Entertainment staff worked tirelessly, interacting with both young and old. My son and I went to the Archery and met Fifi. For the rest of the holiday it was Archery twice a day as half the equipment was dumped at my feet and I helped to take it down. The cry of Archery brought my son running. Talking to Fifi, I found out she was multi talented and multi lingual, as are most of the entertainment staff.

This hotel is classed as a four star in Tunisia. It may not be to everyones liking. It was one of the first hotels built in Sousse, and is in constast use all year round. They are upgrading this hotel from the top to the bottom. The grounds are maintained very well. Kept tidy and clean.

My top tips -
1. Drink plenty of water
2. Take a taxi trip into Sousse. Worth the experience just to see the locals drivers.
3. Take a toilet roll with you on any excursions you do. You cannot be guaranteed there will be any when you stop off and use the toilets.
4. Take plenty of suncream
5. Go there and relax, soak up the sun and enjoy.

I have stayed in worse hotels in the Caribbean where locals come in at the weekend. This did not happen at our hotel, but we heard it happened to a Riu hotel in Hammamet.

Holiday fund has started for our revisit in 2013. Looking forward to it.

Room Tip: When booking ask for a sea view. Higher floor too.

Was a very enjoyable stay at Marhaba Beach, a good place to stay in at if you don't want to go out as there is a variety of activities organised by the hilarious animation team, from archery to french bowls and waterpolo (which became very competitive and fun between nationalities) the first two nights at the hotel weren't very entertaining although the entertainment afterwards just became funnier and funnier. The music played during the day and night was on repeat and a greater variety would be good. The head entertainer asked me to contribute english contemporary music which I will. There was a mix up with the room, we asked for a sea facing three person room, instead we had no view, and the room was a double, after the first night this was corrected. Overall I give it a four.

Room Tip: ask for a sea facing room high up, the views are amazing

Having stayed at marhaba last month and taking the time to settle back at home iv come to the conclusion my stay here wasn't great.upon arrival we were given a room key and the receptionist pointed us where to go,I thought we would of been shown, the porter awkwardly stood there untill we tipped.we weren't told that we had allocated tables in the dining room and ended up getting shouted at by some angry Russians.the day time bar staff are a lot friendlier than night,we had to tip to get drinks (the equivalent of £10 in an hour and only got given 2 drinks each) enjoyed the entertainment and the team were awesome apart from nico who didn't speak to us untill out last night, apart from that they do a really fab job.food wasn't great we ate out quite a few times.beach is absolutley fantastic.i pay all inclusive prices as I don't want to spend money abroad and basically spent another £100 in a week witch isn't in my eyes acceptable.toilet blocked on the second day and leaked for the rest of the time gave up telling reception after the 5th time.(room 172)if you want a relaxing holiday do not go to marhaba beach.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Marhaba Beach Hotel. We would not rate this hotel as a 4 star . Our room had a dated feel with shower hanging off wall and patched up electrics and a very old fashioned tv with limited channels. The chambermaid kept it very clean. The carpets in the corridors were very worn and stained . We felt the safety deposit box was not safe the key had the number of the box on it .
Out side the pool areas were lovely with well kept gardens .The pool was ok but also had a dated feel . The beach was lovely but you couldnt get a sun bed as they were all saved by 7 am . They started putting the beds away at 4 and had to be off the beach by 6 which was a shame . All the staff expect to be tipped for everything.

Room Tip: pool view good but 3rd floor needs a make over
