Myself and my partner were put up in this hotel for a night after our flight home was cancelled and having left the Sentido Phenecia were frankly shocked by the stark difference in standard considering they are both rated 4* by Thomas Cook.

Whilst at the El Ksar we were lucky enough to sample each of the meals on offer- after which myself and other guests we met all experienced sickness and other gastro related problems... I will hold the detail. The food was barely warm, the queues ridiculous, staff bad tempered and very rude at times and the food from the grills was raw in the middle.

As for the room it was incredibly noisy and overlooked the courtyard which ran a cinema with surround sound until gone 2am, despite 3 phone calls and 2 trips to reception the noise continued with the manager stunned to believe this could be keeping us awake, not to mention the ROCK HARD pillows and extremely poor air conditioning which really is necessary in this climate.

Tunisia itself is wonderful, this was an unexpected and very poor end to our holiday and thank god it was only for one night whilst waiting for a flight, DO NOT STAY HERE there are FAR better hotels available, this will ruin your Tunisia experience!!!

Our last family holiday with our teenagers, unfortunately not what we had hoped for. As we left the airport on the way to the hotel we stopped at the most beautiful hotels, but when we arrived at ours the faces dropped!! looked like a prison from the outside not a fort. Still we thought that we had to give it a chance but during the week it got worse the food was terrible, lights hanging off the walls in the rooms which as reported and not fixed, no air conditioning in the corridors outside the rooms, staff attitude, trips, plastic cups with evening drinks. The only thing that good was the weather. If you want better quality do no go to this hotel, it is NOT a 4 star hotel by far.

Just spent two weeks at this Hotel and it was very stressful Ramadan or not, my husband is Muslim but could not fast for health reasons. Food is disgusting and nothing for children to eat my son had chips and ice cream the very occasional time it was available for two weeks. Bar Dragut by pool side same boring food everyday not made with love or much meat! the options are limited to three items daily with stale fruit left on the counter. They limit our drinks to one per person and get rude to you if you want a few for your family, considering they give us flat drinks no ice in cheap tiny plastic cups. Ice is not an option unless you insist as we complained so much they introduced beakers and new glasses to the complainers. There are no ice creams or lolly's avail in the day. To any Muslims considering this Hotel please be warned they serve Pork Bacon without you knowing even during Ramadam however you fry it yourself at the counter, my husband assumed it was turkey but learned upon smelling it and asking the Waiter it was Pork!! This is not a four star hotel as they proudly display their certificated dated 2005 at the entrance and certainly not all inclusive as everything is extra ie. 5 Dinars a day for a fridge and a safe which is located in reception like a bank vault. Towels are 10 dinars each deposit plus 5 dinars for a card which you must have to get your deposit back at the end of your stay! you can only change them between 9-5 each day They claim to have a Gym which sadly is in the making with a Thread Mill available and some boxes. They have a Jungle Park on the premises with ropes and things but this is also extra. This Hotel is run by a conspiracy of greedy staff all but a few out to get Tips before they give customer service, you have to pay them to look after you! Management are not apparent do not speak to Guests or encourage staff to look after Guests. We feel cheated of our Holiday because of this Hotel and the rude Eastern European Guests who were jaw droppingly RUDE with no manners. My advise to Thomas Cook who support the Hotel and El Ksar Management please review the Star rating as we paid for 4 and received barely a 2. The stress here is so bad it felt like Alcatraz and the few Brits staying here cried at times. I am lodging a complaint under mis-representation as we are falsely lead to believe it is 4 Star. They do not value their guests and my complaints are endless put us off Tunisa would not go back.

Room Tip: Sea view is the busy side with the Animations team in the day other side is noisy at night with ente...

This hotel is definately not a 4 star!!

The good parts:
Amazing room, sea view, big balcony & humongous comfy bed!
Entertainment team really good
Beach & sea was gorgeous
Excursions on offer are varied & really fun
Water sports on the beach
Weather was amazing!

The bad parts:
Location - cant really just pop outside your hotel
The FOOD - I was poorly from the 2nd day onwards never lost so much weight in 1 week & messed my stomach up for months & months after it was so unhygienic.
Toilets around the resort so dirty
Some of the men extremely pervy & rude @ times

Overall this was mine & my boyfriends first holiday together, even tho I was so poorly we made the most of it & enjoyed the time together. Wish the English would open a big hotel somewhere like Tunisia so that no one would get poorly from the food & it would be clean!!!!!!

Stayed here for a week in November last year with my sister - the staff are superb, and made our stay a pleasure. The rooms were cleaned daily, and there was good variety with the food. We have been to Tunisia a good few times, and November can be hit and miss with the weather, but apart from 2 rainy days, the rest of the week was great weather, we had enough sun to get a good healthy tan.The rainy days were made pleasurable by the keen staff. I am happy to recommend this hotel and The Paradis Palace for a great holiday in Tunisia.

the el ksar hotel is a great hotel, the grounds the hotel is set on are very nice and youll find the facilities in the hotel are fantastic, the hotel has several pools thalasso spa centre and an incredible beach area where you can sit back and relax. there is also 2 very nice alacarte resterants one called the ball resterant and one called barbarousse deffinatley book into these.

tunisian standards are slightly lower than the uk. although this hotel exceeds its 4 star rating.

the food is very nice but of tunisian standard ie dont come to tunisia if you expect eggs sausage and bacon for breakfast, it isnt going to happen, but there is something for everyone, pizza chips pasta ect. the snack bar is nice for kebabs aswell.

I travelled to this hotel for my Honeymoon with my husband and 3 year old daughter on 21st July 2012 for a week.
The hotel itself was ok, but the food was disgusting! Vegetable stew was being served up for breakfast and the cereal looked like rabbit food!
Lunches and dinners were poor, and we ended up surviving on chip butties and snickers bars!!
I am not sure how this hotel has been rated 4 star, it is more like a 2 star and i've travelled to many 4 star hotels in my time.
I was also told by my rep that it was Ramadan and the staff at the hotel would be very hungry and would be likely to be short tempered with guests! I have respect for their culture, however that does not mean that paying guests should be treated badly, outrageous!!!
I would not ever recommend this hotel as nice food should be available at a 4 star hotel!
