Man Myanmar Inn is just near Sedonna Hotel and Royal Mandalay Palace. If you are looking for an average, low cost accommodation, I would recommend Mann Myanmar Inn. Average room costs $35-45 per day. I have stayed here for 10 days, and my experience is average. The Air conditioning is average, the television has cable TV but only has 5 channels to choose, my bathroom has bath tub but don't take a bath in the afternoon cause the water is very very hot. Internet is only available at the reception area/hotel lobby. If you are on a tight budget, I would recommend this hotel.

We chose this hotel as we had read a review that it had a pool and we were in the height of a hot spell at the end of the dry season. It does not have a pool. The hotel is a long walk from the centre and has little access to anything. There are few restaurants around this area and even less you would chose to eat at, however the one next door is OK. The hotel is a mid range and the room was $40. It was large with a large window looking out onto the very close neighbours windows so we had the curtains drawn all the time, thus making it dark, even though there were many light in the room. The bed was reasonable though the bottom sheet only extended three quarters of the way down the bed. The bathroom was very large and everything worked although the hot water wasnt hot in the mornings. The hotel and room was cleanish although as always seems to be the case they were renovating at the time of our stay so there was some noise and paint fumes. Breakfast was eggs toast tea and juice not much to write home about. The staff are helpful and booked some tickets for us. There wasn't really anything wrong with this hotel but it was uninspiring to say the least.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room on the third floor.

We stayed here for 2 nights, we were given a very spacious room. Staff was accommodating. Breakfast is a sad affair of fake butter, egg, concentrate orange juice, banana and instant coffee. People who serve in the restaurant seems to be also clueless at times. Well, considering all the accommodation situation in Myanmar, this place was pretty decent and it's close to restaurants.

We couldn't get any mid ranged and reasonable hotel in Mandalay in its busiest period, so we had our Myanmar travel agent booked this place for us- one triple room and one twin room.

We arrived at night there. It was just like stepping back into the 1970's typical Chinese hotel- a reception area with huge wooden (teak?) armchairs with elaborated carving design. The area was not brightly lit, shut off by a glass door from the residential area.

The triple room on the ground floor  (rm. 101) is spacious, with quite a few ceiling lights, but again, not brightly lit. There are huge windows with ceiling to floor blinds which open to a concrete wall a meter away.

The furniture especially the wardrobe in the room reminds me of the 1970's good Chinese hotels. Huge and generous in their size and space that we could put all our 3 big luggages in and more. Just love it.

The bathroom is huge, with plenty of hot water. However, mosquitoes seem to manage to get in through the bathroom wall fan-ventilator, so the door needs to be closed at all time. The beds are comfortable, though with the not so bright the lights the sheets seem to have seen a better day, so do the towels.  A small fridge or "icebox" is quite useful. The rooms are cleaned everyday, with the change of towels.

The twin room on the first floor (rm. 206) is of a reasonable size, with distinct smell of disinfectant  and smokes from the previous guests. The bathroom is a nice size but has seen a better day. Again, the room itself is not brightly lit. The heavy blinds didn't help.

Location wise, it's at the edge of the "center", but is still very convenient to get to the center. The advantage is that it is practically next door to the wonderful Mandalay Marionettes Theatre, and some really great chinese and local restaurants.

I do have a good feeling about this place. However, I can't say that if I have a choice,  I would pick it again.

We stayed at the Mann Myanmar Inn for 2 nights at $30 per night (walk in).

Hotel clean and comfortable but a little bit out of town. No free wifi and Internet place next door is gaming only, but found Internet a few blocks away across from Happy Palace.

Staff always friendly and helpful, missed breakfast so can't comment on quality but around corner across from sedona hotel is a great place to eat with locals, they serve eggs and traditional burmese food for breakfast.

If you looking for a cheap, clean hotel I would recommend Mann Myanmar.

Stayed there for 3 nights while visiting local friends. Hotel very conveniently located, 1 block from the palace (nice evening walk by the moat), and close to Mandalay Hill (for the morning climb). Also very close to the Sedona hotel, which provides ready access to trishaw drivers who park on the corner of 66th street.

Good/bad: hotel is RIGHT next to Mintha Theater (and very close to the Mandalay Marionettes Show), so you can hear the Mintha show from your room - not too bad as it doesn't last all that late. Also, being so close to the Sedona, if there is an outdoor concert there, you will hear it.

It is NOT exactly close to downtown, which, for me, is good. A trishaw took me to the Moustache Brothers show, there, wait, and back for something like 4000 kyat.

Staff is VERY helpful, even making some local calls for me. Breakfast is standard fare.

Rooms are decent, beds comfortable. Dorm size fridge in room. Bathroom quite large. To be honest, truly hot water seemed to be a bit iffy - 1 morning I had it, the next I didn't. Maybe if I had just waited longer... A/C is VERY good. I did have some problems with mosquitoes, but a stop at a small shop got me a can of insect spray - dosed the room before going to sleep, and problem solved

On same street, behind the Sedona, is Zone Express Travel, which changed money and had a counting machine - very handy. Reasonable rate.

All in all, great location, very comfortable and convenient hotel, with very friendly staff. It's not plush, but then again, I didn't come to spend a lot of time in the room.

If you are expecting a 5-star Hotel with excellent view, then you might look for something else - if you are looking for a charming, quality conscious Sino-Burmese Hotel, this is the place to go:

Located just around the corner of the south-eastern end of Mandalay's Royal Palace and a two-minutes walk away from the Mandalay Marionettes Theatre, the Mann Myanmar Inn already convinces by its location. Still absolutely being part of the city centre, it is a perfect starting point for exploring Mandalay's attractions by foot or bike, but gives you a break from the noisier and busier areas.

The hotel itself is in a very clean and healthy state, the builing's condition leaves a good impression (e.g. no damages due to humidity), and the rooms' infrastructure works without any problems. In general, rooms are spacious and services offer you everything you can expect for rates around 25 to 30 US$ per room/day (incl. Breakfast, Phone, Minibar, TV, Aircon, Hot/Cold Water etc).

The best of the hotel, however, is its staff: I have rarely met such a nice and friendly service, eager to sincerely assist you wherever necessary. They will also agree to additionally organise local trips for you, to call taxis and other means of transport, to guard your main luggage when going for a small trip for a few days, or simply to keep your belongings in the reception's safety box.

This smaller family-run hotel provides you with the excellent services particularly for a longer stay when using Mandalay as a base for domestic trips.
