Stayed twice in a span of a week here. Good rooms and very helpful staff. They arranged a trip to Inn Wa for me and helped with restaurant suggestions. Good breakfast on the top floor as well. Located close to the rail station and near good restaurants and shops. Good option to consider in Mandalay.

Very friendly staff and stellar service!! Reception’s English is really good and they’re very helpful answering any questions. The service at this hotel was amazing.
Room was spacious and clean. Included bed with two pillows, night stands, international outlets, small fridge, desk, chair, kettle, snacks and beverages for purchase, tv (with English channels including some great movie channels), air conditioner, rack to hang clothing, bathroom with toiletries. The bathroom is a wet room style with the shower being the whole room. (Shower head holder was broken though, so you had no choice but to hold the shower head to rinse off; needs to be fixed.)
The hotel offers transport to and from the airport at a standard rate. They have bicycles available for free if you prefer to get around that way in Mandalay. Would recommend hiring a driver or renting a scooter for stuff further than the neighborhood though. There’s a few good local restaurants within walking distance, but you really need some wheels to get around and see the sites.
Western and Burmese food options for breakfast; we always opted for the fresh fruit.
Would definitely stay here again.

We thought the reviews and the price made Hotel 8 an easy choice and I feel kinda bad just saying they are average.
The truth is that it's a basic hotel at a basic price. Nothing fancy and the location isn't that fantastic. The room was ok. Bed comfortable. Bathroom ok. Staff fantastic. Breakfast very ordinary.
It really needs a wee bit of money spent on it though
Oh and the mosque next door makes a lot of noise early in the morning !

We stayed here for 4 nights and were really very satisfied. Warm welcome from very friendly, good english speaking staff. Room was spotlessly clean. Took a bit for warm water in the shower. Breakfast on 5. floor was very good and varied daily. 5 different warm choices, soup, fruit, brown bread or toast, jam etc. Staff were always helpful for bookings or taxi and information. Good location in North part of town near palace and not far to Mandalay Hill or boat jetty.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel 8. Stayed 3 nights with friends, 3 rooms. It is a bit of quite in a busy city. Rooms are big, clean, comfortable and well serviced. Hot water was good, had to wait for it, and bathroom huge. Could do with some safes in the rooms however. There is a lift in this 6 story building.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Speak good english. Breakfast was excelent with views of the city from the top of the hotel.
Can definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.
