“Lovely Little Villa”
Reviewed 16 March 2013

We stayed for one night after the place we had stayed for the previous few nights (Villa Chitdara) was full. Villa Champa was pleasant, the rooms clean and quiet. Breakfast across the road was tasty but not mind blowing.
If you want to see the Alms Ceremony at 6:30 each morning, then this is a great place to stay as you can roll out of bed onto the balcony, get a great view at a respectful distance then roll back into bed a few minutes later.
Villa Champa lacked a little of the quality and luxury of Villa Chitdara but was perfectly adequate and also a little cheaper than Villa Chitdara.
Would happily stay again.

Very cute guesthouse in a great location. Ome minute to the river, bananas water and coffee for free. Quiet neighborhood and very friendly staff. Room are small but really nice. Bathroom was clean. We paid for a double room with private toilet 20 USD. Highly recommend it.

Cute little place, great location - 1 block from the Mekong river and close to shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed the balcony to have a beer after a big day. Breakfast was served across the road at a cafe and quite nice - gave you limited options (eggs, bread, juice) but nice given it was free. Only disappointment was we asked for a double bed and it seems all the rooms have twin beds... and they put them next to each other to make a double bed - obviously doesn't quite work.

I have been staying at Villa Champa for the last three years the last ocasion being for 10 days leaving on 1 January 2013. It is good to see the owner is upgrading the property. The room TV's are now flat screen, the air con & ceiling fans in the room are well maintained and they have changed their wifi provider to a much better service. Rooms have a power board by the tv which is great for someone like me with plenty of devices to charge.

For a nine room guest house they now have wifi routers on the ground floor & first floor so the signal strength is always good.

Breakfast is now included, at the cafe across the road, but if you want to go elsewhere your room rate is reduced by US$5 per day.

They do their own laundry in the basement which means that there is a fast turn around. At 10,000 kip a kilo the charge is the same as everyone else.

In December I was with a group and were booked into a larger hotel on the main street - Ancient Luangprabang. The rack rate here was twice the price as Villa Champa yet offered similar facilities.

You will find cheaper accommodation but when looking my advice is to check the size of the rooms offered. Villa Champa has quite large rooms and very good balconies. The bathrooms are also largge.

Thank goodness that the building of the new guest house next door has finished as in July 2012 there were some problems on builders noise early in the morning. The next door guest house opened last December so no more builders noise.

Room Tip: Rooms 108 & 109 on the first floor have very large balconies to watch the monks go by each morni...

We loved the two nights we spent in this lovely homely guesthouse. It really is right in the hub of town and within minutes walk of most of a Luang Prabang's main attractions. The rooms are neat and comfortable with an en suite bathroom as well as tea and coffee making facilities. We stayed in a downstairs room which is slightly cheaper - you can have a snooze and watch the world go by through the shutter doors. We literally rolled out of bed onto the verandah and watch the early morning alms ceremony which was so interesting. Breakfast is served in the guesthouse across the street (2m away) and was delicious - you could choose from fruit salad, omelette ordered/ scrambled eggs - all served with a strong cup of Lao coffee and a lovely warmed baguette! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and out of the three hotels we stayed in in Luang Prabang this was definitely our favourite and we felt most at home. We highly recommend staying at Villa Champa - and hope we can visit again soon!

We booked this hotel for two nights and ended up staying for seven. The rooms are clean and cosy, and the staff are helpful. There is complimentary tea, coffee and bananas in reception and some great eateries for breakfast and lunch opposite the hotel.

We stayed for 9 nights in this charming and friendly villa. Great place to have your laundry done as they are very careful with your clothes. Plenty of eating places nearby and central to everything in the old section of town. For the price we highly recommend this place. Loved the friendly staff.
