If you can definitely get the river view with balcony at the bottom. We only booked 2 nights but ended up staying 4 and changed to the balcony the last 2 nights. Far better, a lot more natural light as the lead in is pretty dark.
If anything stay here for the location!
The rooms and clean and comfortable. The breakfast ok, although after 4 days I was truly over the only 2 options they had.
Would stay here again!

I picked this hotel from reviews on AGODA, WHAT A MISTAKE

I picked this hotel from reviews on Agoda - What a mistake. Booked airport transfers from hotel
but they never showed up.
The room was small & the safe in the room was broken. They said I could use the office safe but
all employees had the access code ( even I knew it) so I wouldn't leave things in it. I was told the safe would be fixed when I left. Not good enough.
The room has external timber shutters on glass windows & doors. Even with these closed I still
used ear plugs as it was very noisy. The bathroom was the smallest one I have ever used in all
my travels, you could hardly move in it. Also the water was luke warm. I can see now why no photos were available of the bathrooms.
Breakfast was pancake (1 ) 9 bite size pieces of fruit & small pieces of toast & coffee. On the
4th morning I was offered 2 eggs instead of the 1 pancake.

Room Tip: Try another hotel

We spent 2 nights in Luang Prabang and this was a great place to stay. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Great location and friendly staff. Only downside was the rooster nearby which started crowing around 5am.

This place with not too much work, could be a real jewel in the crown. The location is perfect, with magnificent views and handy to all sites. However, the bathrooms are badly in need of restoration.
Everything else is fine. Our welcome was extremely friendly and the staff during our stay were very helpful and interested in what we required. I would let the bathroom situation be a turn off as it is beatable and one must remember that this is very much a third world country and the sewage system not as highly developed.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms in the new part. These have elevated balconies.

I think some of the previous reviewers have been unkind, unfair or very unlucky. I find it hard to fault this pretty little hotel, the staff are friendly, helpful and speak good English. It's perfectly located, just 5 minutes walk from the famous night market, on the river and quiet. The beds are very comfortable, the linen spotless, the furnishings nice, and breakfast tasty. For the memory I paid through Agoda, I could not be happier.

Room Tip: An upstairs room might be a little quieter.

We booked this place, not because it was the cheapest, but more because of it's location. Just in front of the Saynamkhan River View Hotel runs the river Nam Khan and 100 m round the corner is the main street Sakkaline Road.

The Room was tiny and infested with small ants crawling up the wall. When pointed out to the reception, they promise to spray the room with insecticide. But it didn't help. The windows in the room has shutters was situated 50 cm above the roof of the neighboring house. You will feel a little unsafe to sleep with open windows, so we didn't. the window shutters had no locks. With the windows shutters closed the rooms is cut out of daylight. So the result is a tiny room without daylight and ant infested wall.

Some of the positive side is the staff was very friendly and serviceminded. There is free access to boiling water 24/7. We discovered that to hotel and the hotel restaurant had two different owners. The breakfast was quite ordinary and becomes boring because there are only to kind to choose from.

The restaurant had a french owner who is also the chef. The food was nice and expensive compared with other places in town.

We arrived early in the morning coming right from the VIP sleeper bus from Viantiane,

Room Tip: Ask for room with river view, which is also the most expensive.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 Nights and it was both good and bad. The location is great - very central. The room was very small, dark and there were ants in the room which we asked them to dó something about twice. The windows are not secure and it does not feel safe. So we ended up giving our values to the reception every Day. The breakfast is not nice! Fruit, pancake and some bread. Just not healthy - one day they had not coffee. For what you get, it is not value for monney. It is more like a hostel! We missed a place where we could rest in the evening - since our room was so small - and it was not the cheapest room - even we felt that.
