This hotel is in a good spot overlooking the river. The price is reasonable and the breakfast was included and was decent. The rooms are spacious and clean.

We had booked for 3 nights but on arrival were told there was no 3 bed room for the first night of our booking. Instead we were offered 2 rooms but asked to pay more for this night. In the end, we did pay the same for this night as for the other 2, but only after almost walking away to find a different hotel.

On checking out, we were asked to pay in US dollars but we only had local currency as we are not from the US. We were given an over-inflated conversion rate, meaning our stay was more expensive. Not very impressive that they took this opportunity to exploit their guests.

We had read some good reviews on here about the people at reception here but unfortunately we didn't have that experience. Asked about what we should do in the area and he just pointed us into town. The rooms were nice enough and the decorations were cute. There were quite a few small spiders in the bathroom but they didn't bother us too much. The wifi strength wasn't so good, even in the first floor rooms. Breakfast was included but it was the basic plain egg and toast. It's an OK place to stay in the area but you could easily find something better and cheaper just walking down the main street. The guy at reception DID have great English, though, as he lived in California for years.

Beautiful old home, lovely wooden interior. View of the Mekong, easy walk to morning alms route, nice quite location. Delicious breakfast. Upstairs rooms out of wifi range but wifi in lobby and in downstairs rooms. Souk, the young man in charge, was a wonderful resource for our many questions about Lao culture, extremely helpful. A block and a half from guesthouse you can be a volunteer English tutor at Big Brother Mouse--a wonderful experience to chat with young students. Khongsavath highly recommended!

I stayed at Khongsavath Guesthouse for 3 nights and I can absolutely recommend this place.
The rooms are clean and furnished with a lot of love for the detail. The breakfast, which is included in the price, is delicious. The owner is very friendly and happy to help you with anything. The location is also absolutely convenient as you can reach every hotspot of the city by foot. The view on the Mekong river is fantastic. All in all I really enjoyed my stay there.

We were traveling with a 2 year old and we had the family room with windows on the Mekong. Room gets cleaned every day and it is cozy. The bathroom could be a bit bigger and a bit more modern, but still, very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is delicious and served on the terrace. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

A really calm and peaceful guesthouse, with very reasonable rates. Perfect location. And really helpful staff. myself and partner were very jet lagged and really struggled waking up in time for breakfast at the hotel. The owner made sure every morning though that they left out breakfast stuff for us for when we finally woke up. I would definatley recommend it.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights here and thoroughly recommend this charming guesthouse, which is centrally located so we could walk everywhere and has great views over the Mekong. It is quaintly old fashioned and exudes a calm which is a welcome relief after some of the travelling we had done to get there and the owner was extremely helpful. Our room was at the front, and was clean and comfortable and fairly spacious.
The shower room was tiny, however but perfectly formed. The shower worked well and there was plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was basic but good!
