Lovely hotel with large and beautiful hotels, comfortable beds. Especially enjoyed the view on the Mekong river from our room. World hardly can be better than sipping ice tea at the hotel terrace besides the river. Very friendly staff, helpful and efficient. Ell, the manager is a Darling. Luang Prabang has come a long way compared t0 5 years ago (stayed at a $50 guesthouse at that time sleeping under my umbrella as it was raining!!!). The hotel and the town are just the right combination to forget about hectic Hanoi, polluted Beijing or noisy Bangkok. Hotel is quietly located besides the river, jet the center of the town and the temples are all within 5 min walk.
Besides all the normal "to do's" I strongly recommend to ask Ell to organize a one day trip up the river, as soon as you leave the Mekong you won't see any tourists anymore. Internet is what you can expect in Laos, actually better than what i expected.

We stayed at the Belle Rive for 3 nights close ot Chines New Year. What a fantastic choice! The location is perfect: very close to town (the monks pass by every morning just a street behind), but very quiet. We had a room without a balcony (Room no. 2) on the ground floor; it was perfect for families. We had an extra mattress for child #1 and a baby cot for child #2. Everything fitted really well in the huge room. I have to mention that the baby cot was of excellent quality, very sturdy and the mattress was thick and good. Paul and Elle are very helpful. They recommended restaurants and trips, which all turned out to be great. They arranged for tuktuks (which turned out to be cheaper than the travel agents in town). They exchanged USD for local currency at the best rate we had! We ate lunch there sometimes, really good too!

We loved Luang Prabang, the trip to the waterfalls was a highlight. Strongly recommended (sturdy shoes, please. It's pretty rough).

We loved the Bellerive and highly recommend it to everyone!

Our stay in the BelleRive was one of the best travel experiences in a long time. The Hotel is very nicely done, with attention to detail that is rarely found in this part of the world. The room was spacious and nicely decorated and we felt immediatly "at home". This impression was reconfirmed by the great service we got from the couple that is managing the place as well as from the local staff. When our 16-month old daugther had a medical issue, they went out of their way to help, and the tours and trips organized through them were always flawless. We spend lot's of time on their magnificent terrace overlooking the Mekong River and enjoying ice-cold Beer Lao. A truly perfect stay...

We arrived in Luang Prabang under unusual circumstances. (Our cruise up the Mekong was a disaster when our boat sank and we lost most of our belongings). The staff at Belle Rive were amazing. Not only were they kind to us and treated us like royalty; they helped us with every aspect of the vacation.

The hotel itself is beautiful and small which is nice and makes it feel much more like a home rather than a standard hotel. The rooms are beautifully appointed with the feeling of a modern Laos but with traditional touches. Very clean and modern, with an exceptional staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable. Everyone I dealt with spoke English well
and that was nice also.

El and Paul, who manage the hotel, are wonderful caring people and they have an open invitation to stay with us if they ever make it to where we live. I Love Luang Prabang and the Belle Rive has a lot to do with the way we feel. I highly reccomend this boutique hotel.

This is a completely wonderful hotel located right on the banks of the Mekong in one of the cutest parts of town. The staff was warm and attentive from the minute we arrived, treating us more as old friends than as paying customers and helping us with whatever questions we had about shopping, eating, and sightseeing in and around town. They even arranged a sunset boat cruise for all guests, free of charge! The rooms are spotless, airy, and comfortable, with stylish touches such as painted ceramic sinks that give the rooms unique personality. And the breakfast that was included in the price of the room was one of the best I'd had in months. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. The BelleRive is not to be missed.
