“Do not recommend at all”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2014

We booked two nights at this guesthouse via an online booking website. When we realised we would arrive late, we called the guesthouse to let them know and to make sure they did understand, we told the website which called them. The guesthouse acknowledged our late arrival. However when we arrived around 11.30pm, it was open but there was no one. We had to call the website customer service. Finally we found someone who explained that they gave our room to someone else but had found us another guesthouse nearby. Nevertheless the guesthouse was closed and the owner out. So we found ourselves homeless at midnight... After pressuring the guy into finding us a solution, he got us a room in another nearby guesthouse (with no name), a bit dodgy but with nice owners. We stayed in this one for two nights as everything was booked in the area, including the Mekong moon inn for the next nights.
I am sure it is a nice guesthouse but after a 13-hour bus journey, the last thing you want is to be homeless and we did not appreciate the hotel's reaction, especially the next day. They could not care less and did not feel sorry.

Room Tip: You'd better check-in at 8am.

We booked two rooms for four friends and got one in the old and one in the new building. The ones in the new building are better value with a nicer bathroom, but the one in the old building has a nice balcony and is still very good value compared to the guesthouse next door. To bad we only booked one night and will have to find different accommodation for the next two days as they are full. Only downside we can mention is the staff doesn't speak english very well.

I stayed one night in mid-December 2013 for 150,000k. Room was nice, though touch small, and included wifi and cable TV. Excellent locale near meekong and fresh produce market. However, if you can do without the cable TV and wifi you can get other rooms nearby for half the price at other places. Overall thought it was nice clean place, staff were very helpful, but probably not the best value compared to other offerings. PS you can hire a bicycle for only 10,000k for the day at a place just outside and down toward the river on the left, so that was convenient

I did not stay at the inn but I had a massage from Mekong Moon massage, which I am presuming is near this hotel.

It was amazing . The lady was so strong. The interior is not fancy but it was comfortable. Cost 50,000 kip for an hr ($7.50). It was much more worth than the 40,000 Kip one that I tried in a fancy massage place on the night market st. Lady gave a nice fruit tea after. Highly recommend.

Our first room was in the old building and while the room itself was fine, and the bed very comfortable, we had to change to a different room after our first night because of the stench of the bathroom. It really was gross and unbearable!

For our second night, we moved to a twin (as there were no doubles available) at the front of the new building which was much better with the same comfortable beds, AC and clean bathroom with hot water and wifi.

Staff were generally unhelpful for most of our stay but not obstructive or rude.

The coffee shop next door called Saffron did a great bacon & egg bagel and apparently does great coffee.

Location is great in between the river and the southern end of the night market.

Based on e second room alone we would give this place 4 stars but they need to do something to fix the smell of the old building.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room is really good sized. We had the ground floor which was very convenient. The morning alms is just next to the hotel. The morning market and night bazaar turn right. The mekong river and river front restaurants turn left. Both sides just 2 mins walk.

There is a money exchange just opposite the hotel. Turn right and it is located just next to the lane where the morning market is.

Service is great. Friendly staff. They have awesome helpful reception be it night or morning staff. Pricing is reasonable.

Right next door is safron cafe. Really good coffee place. They are open at 7am.

Only con is that the bathroom has a funny smell. The management should seriously do something about it.
