The hotel was really calm and relaxing. Breakfast was amongst the best I had. Coffee fabulous and really great croissants, fresh fruit etc. There is a traditional evening Lao meal which has to be ordered the day before which is well worth having, served on the lovely terrace. Only slight downside was that there was not a lot of choice on the wine list. The boat takes you across the river to town or you can walk over the bamboo bridge. Rooms are huge with very very comfy beds and nice shower gels, shampoos etc, which you can buy from there too. No TVs or radios - a quiet place to stay in style.

We had heard that Luang Prabang was a beautiful place - and it was. If we had expectations these were exceded, A wonderful place to be half way through a 3 week tour of Indo-china. This hotel - Apsara Rive Droit - just added to it. All the staff were terrific, the manageress setting the style. The hotel is comfortable, our bedroom was roomy and had a great view. The breakfast, served at table - no "Do-it-yourself" buffet here - was tasty and well presented on a delightful terrace. The grounds are a beautiful garden leading down to the river - Nam Kahn. The location is ideal. You are minutes away from the centre of town but get a lovely switch off and sense of calm as you cross the river in the hotel's boat. Truly a Paradise in Paradise.

Room Tip: We preferred our room overlooking the river to those that also overlooked the swimming pool.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 days at the Apsara Rive Droite. The hotel is in a beautiful, quiet setting overlooking the river, across from the main town. The swimming pool is set in private gardens and the rooms are spacious and chic, with their own large shaded balconies or porches. Breakfast is included and involves a menu of choices (flawless laos coffee, fresh fruit, pastries, omelettes, pancakes) all of which are freshly prepared and delicious. The staff are exceptionally helpful and made all the difference to our stay. It is easy to do excursions around the area from the hotel - although we had to pull ourselves away from the hotel.

We loved the Apsara Rive Droite - a warm welcome and consistently wonderful service throughout our 4 day stay. The staff were extremely helpful with our endless requests for bikes/restaurant bookings/directions etc. The rooms were very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. We enjoyed the breakfasts on the terrace near the pool. Delicious Omelette Masala and fresh pineapple juice. We enjoyed eating dinner at the Apsara on the other side of the river - they have the best ice cream in town.

We spent Christmas in LP and discover this perfect place to enjoy sightseeing and time to relax at the swimming pool. The hotel is 5mn by boat from the center, just accross their sister hotel Apsara. Easy access to the town at any time, even at 6.30 to see the monks.
Very nice staff, good service, excellent breakfast with croissants and pains au chocolat.
Take time to cycle around the villages next from the hotel;

I love the Apsara so i couldn't resist in giving its sister hotel the Rive Droite a bash. Gosh It was lovely. I could have stayed in bed all day, if they pool wasn't so inviting. As I'd been to Lunag Prabang before i didn't feel the need to do a lot of sight seeing so this was a perfect place to be. I could get the boat over when I felt like it, or just lie in a heap. The food is as good as the Apsara Restaurant, and the staff are lovely. I was there on my own and they took extra care of me which is always nice. Also they had a small but good library so there was lots to read.

Room Tip: up to you, upstairs have a better view over the greenery, downstairs are nearer to the pool.

The arrival to the Apsara Rive Droite - by small private boat ride across the river, and the climb through manicured allotments, which at night are lit by lanterns, is truly magical. The hotel itself, when you finally reach it, is not a disappointment! The service at this hotel was first class, the staff bent over backwards for us and were always smiling - nothing was a problem - from checking-in at 07.00 when we arrived off a night-bus from Vientiane to an evening check-out to coincide with another night-bus (all at no extra cost) to providing us with a wealth of local area knowledge. The beds are the best we have found in our 6 weeks traveling around SE Asia, and the breakfast was fantastic - big fan of the ever changing home-made jams! We also stayed at the "Apsara One" and although some people feel the Apsara Rive Droite is a little bit removed from the town, for us this was what made it so charming! We also found a noticeable difference in service quality between the two hotels - if you can afford it I would highly recommend the Apsara Rive Droite, it's worth every penny!

Room Tip: First floor rooms with balconies give elevated views across the river and provide much more privacy...
