The Hotels is placed at Nam Khan river.
The room was clean and stylish furnished. Air condition was quiet and worked well. The bathroom was furnished in Lao / French colonial style and the shower cabin was even with ground. While showering and refreshing the water runs out the shower cabin and watered the bathroom a bit.
Staff was friendly and helpful. At breakfast the staff obviously mixed up the orders and someone who has ordered at last get the food at first. Scrambled eggs, fresh fruits and so on were really delicious and fresh prepared.

We stayed there on Nov 26, 2013.

We had reservation at BelleRive Hotel, but was told that another guest was overstaying their stay. BelleRive got us a room at Villa Deux Riveres, which was on the other side of the old section (about three block away). We room was nicely appointed, clean, and quiet. The staff was excellent and very accommodating and friendly. It was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our two week travel through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you stay, ask for room 1. It's their large suite facing the street with a nice balcony. The wifi was fast.

The only downside was the grout in the large shower. It either needs a good scubbing/bleaching.

Room Tip: Ask for room 1.

A small hotel nicely placed opposite the river and convenient for the town center 10 minutes walk away. The double bed was enormous and comfortable, which does make the room seem a little small. Clean and tidy, with the best shower, a small room on its own. The staff spoke good English and were very friendly and helpful. The Lao tradition of having all the components of a meal delivered at the same time took a bit of getting used to, juggling croissant, fresh fruit, bacon and egg all at the same time is a challenge! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel.

located near the end of the pennisula over looking the river - we had a room with a river view which was lovely but quite small so we lived out of the suitcase for four nights but that wasnt a problem. Breakfast was of a good standard. overall have no complaints about this small hotel.

Room Tip: book the biggest room you can afford and/ or a river view with a balcony

With a great location, king size bed, well appointed western style bath, and friendly, helpful staff, this should be a good review--it isn't.

My quarrel is with the description of the superior rooms as having a private balcony or terrace with a view of the garden. When I checked in, I was convinced I had been given the wrong room. Certainly no balcony as it was a ground floor room and nothing looking like a terrace. The manager explained that I had, in fact, been given a superior room. The flat area outside the door was the door was the terrace and they had removed the chair that used to be there as no one ever wanted to sit in it. I would have to say that the statement that the room had a terrace is flatly incorrect and misleading. Garden view is also less than informative as it's a limited space. As it is a ground level room, you need to close the exterior shutters so it's effectively a windowless room. Would have preferred to no that going in.

After that profoundly bad start, the minor problems, opaque instructions on the room safe, AC and fan combination that did not quite supply the right temperature, and close to no Wifi signal in the room, quickly added up. Possibly an overreaction on my part, but I decided one night was enough and left even though I had paid for 4 nights through a booking agency. I would not have dealt well with 3 more nights.

Finally, don't know all that much about the Luang Prabang hotel scene, but USD130 for an interior room with no view, seemed awfully pricey.

Room Tip: Don't book a superior room

Nice hotel in a good location. Overlooks the river on Luang Prabang's quiet peninsula. Nice to sit at the front of the hotel, have a drink and watch the world go by. Our room was great, on the ground floor. Spacious and clean, lovely big bathroom. Staff were helpful and pleasant but breakfast was all a bit confusing. We missed out on a couple of things we ordered and the manager brought them straight away. The breakfast itself was fine, I think maybe they just need a better system for ordering.

One should get a good feeling staying at Villa Deux Rivieres, it is a well run and the staff friendly and very helpful and attentive to your needs. The breakfast is very straight forward and simple but of very good quality. The croissants are excellent as well as the fruit and all other items I enjoyed. I stayed (#9) with a big comfortable bed to lay in and a flat screen TV with a DVD player and a very relaxed feel to it. Location is super and right outside to the entrance is the Nam Khan River and within 5 minutes you can be at the where the Nam Khan and Mekong meet. Beautiful area to walk in and 10 minutes to towns and temples. My second time here and it only gets better.
