We had a lovely 3 night stay at Maison Dalabua. The property was gorgeous and tranquil, and the room was the largest we came across during our weeks in SE Asia. Great shower! The free breakfast was delicious and generous, with a great buffet plus your choice of prepared eggs/pancakes with bacon or sausage. Rooms were well equipped with a reasonable priced minibar and free bottled water. Location is a bit out of the center of town (easy 5 minute walk). Marion was sweet and helpful without being intrusive.

Spending three nights at this excellent resort during my birthday vacation at Luang Prabang. The resort is located in the center of Luang Prabang but the surrounding lotus pond gives you the impression that you are staying somewhere in the rural. The location is quiet with local residents staying around you. The ambience of the resort is the selling point. Once you step into the lobby you already feel something special, The rooms are big in size with comfortable bed. Most of the rooms have private verandah facing the lotus pond. The Laotian style building is very well maintained and the hospitality of the staffs are outstanding. The breakfast area is an open spaced concept. The breakfast is great with 5 choices that are cooked freshly. This resort offers free bicycle that can be used by the guest. It is a great option to take bicycle in Luang Prabang as the town is quite small and you can cover the town in a day. Walking to the night market is less than 5 minutes. Once you step out the hotel door, turn right and walk to the main road and turn right again. Walk straight and in the night market is less than one kilometer. This hotel do not have swimming pool and I would say that who need swimming pool in this beautiful town. If you have children then you have to supervise them so they don't fall into the lotus pond. The resort provides free WIFI, the speed is acceptable although the highest speed was in lobby and restaurant area. Would recommend this resort for those who are having their honeymoon.

Room Tip: Choose the room with private verandah...

I and my friend spent 5 days 4 nights here and I must say everything was very good.
Basically, things you'll need for a good stay are all met. The room is so nice. It's new and clean, and I think it's luxurious enough for the price they offer. I really love the handmade soaps they provided and the aroma scent lingering in the room always. Just set foot on the hotel space you'll feel comfortable and relax. Next thing the staffs, they're extremly friendly and helpful. Instead of surfing on the internet to find out the way to our heading-to places, it's a lot more easier just asking the receiptionist, they're always willing to help and even gave us some recommendations. Some of the staffs even tried to speak something in our language that made me feel so welcomed. There was this incident I was impressed. When I brought my bag to the receiption for checking out, there was a staff I met in the corridor offerd me help, but what I apprecited was that staff is a very old man and it's obvious I could manage my bag better than him, still he tried to help. The people here are so nice. And finally the surroundings with lily ponds and landscape made us feel so good. I enjoyed and happy with my choice since dalabua is a very unique place of landscape in Luang Prabang. I think I had a very wise choice for my vacation.
However, there're few cons for my staying. First, there was no toothbrush and toothpaste provided in the room. Second, the breakfast menu is the same everyday which brings you not many choices for your first meal of the day. The fact is I tried all the dishes they had just within 3 days, the only thing different in the food served was the kind of fruit depends on what they had on that day and it's not much.
In conclusion, it worths to stay in Dalabua and it's definitely a good step to have a wonderful vacation in Luang Prabang.

This is the second time I have stayed at Dalabua. On arrival this year we were upgraded to a better room by Marion, the charming French manageress. The room was a delight - huge bed, beautifully decorated, large bathroom with an excellent shower and a balcony overlooking the extensive water lily ponds. Very efficient and quiet air conditioning, large flat screen television with multiple English channels and high speed wifi completed the experience. There was a happy hour every day with very cheap cocktails and an extensive French and local menu in the open air restaurant which also overlooks the ponds. This is also the venue for the excellent breakfast which is cooked to order. The hotel is only about 5 to 10 minutes walk to the centre of town or you can borrow a free bicycle at the front desk as we did. The only thing lacking is a swimming pool but the good news is that there is one under construction and will be finished later this year. This is a great place to stay if you want a touch of luxury and a beautiful quiet environment in which to relax.

Room Tip: Book a room with a balcony overlooking the ponds. It is a great place to kick back and relax.

On first arriving at the Hotel, I was taken aback with awe. This beautiful wooden retreat is built over a mature lotus pond with gorgeous walkways covered with dangling branches. Periodic piers over the pond make cosy snugs for reading, drinking, socialising or just sitting back and thinking. My room itself was a cheaper room but was very comfortable, well appointed with all modern and new comforts with an enormous bed that stretched on forever. The staff are very friendly, all have a good level of English and the reception staff (some european) have an excellent level of English.

The location is a 10 minute walk to the night market (main location) or a 3 minute cycle.

All in all, I wish I had longer here to just sit back and enjoy this cute little escape nestled in this World Heritage Town.

It's a really lovely hotel in every way - the beautifully appointed rooms and facilities, which are based around a stunning lotus pond, couldn't really be improved on for the price. The staff are all very helpful and friendly (the managers are great with any requests for information) and the breakfast was really good. Although it's a short walk - or very quick bike ride - from the centre of town, the location isn't a problem at all unless you want everything on your doorstep. We stayed here both times we were in Luang Prabang and were very pleased we did on both occasions. Fantastic place.
