My girlfriend and I decided on this place after reading all the great reviews on Tripadvisor and Oudomphong II did not disappoint.

We paid 80,000 kip for a large, secure, clean room with a double bed, hot shower, towels, soap, toilet paper and wi-fi (all the most important traveller essentials). An additional bonus is free unlimited green tea, Lao coffee and water, which you could help yourself to :)

The garden was a lovely place for breakfast and to meet other travellers and the staff were very polite and helpful in booking us onward bus tickets to Phonsavanh.

Finally, they also do a laundry service, bike hire and unlike some of the other places there is someone there to open the gate for you, so you don't get shut out after curfew!

We stayed at the Oudomphong 2, having initially approached number 1 for a room, but they were full. 2 seemed better, room with a private bathroom for 80,000 kip, nice big size and big window letting in lots of natural light was nice. We could also use the wooden shutters to block out noise and light too. Only slight gripe was construction noise from next door, street noise filtering through at times during the night despite being in a side alley. However, this is Asia and part of the atmosphere everywhere. Otherwise, good quality food and friendly staff.

I think we actually stayed in Oudomphong I...but the photos on here are of II I think...anyway, we had a lovely 3 night stay at this locally run small guest house. There were 3 of us staying and we were given a deluxe double room on the ground floor which had 2 double beds. The room was reasonably sized and had 2 en-suites! The staff didn't speak great English, but they were helpful enough to get laundry done and restock our fridge, oh ye, we had a mini-bar style fridge in the room which was excellently priced! Just like supermarket prices really! Overall a lovely stay!

I stayed here in April, what a wonderful place, we had no booking and arrived to a very warm welcome. The owner/manager is really professional as are all the Staff. The rooms were spotless clean, with wifi and a wonderful seated area downstairs for chilling out. Nothing was too much trouble here. To top it all the location is perfect.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw were excellent.

I noticed that some people rated Oudomphong Guesthouse 2 here. I'll do so. We stood at Oudomphong Guesthouse 2 with my family in April. It is probably one of the best budget value options in Luang Prabang. We first had a family room (3 beddings) for 150 000 kips (no AC, but fan). We then changed for 2 double rooms with AC (150 000 each). Everything was perfectly runned : AC working well, hot water in the (small) bathrooms, fans, and it was very clean. The laundry we left the morning was given back in the afternoon and was very clean too.
The location is good : quiet and nice neighborhood, and short walk distance from the main historic temples, markets and restaurants.
The couple running the guesthouse is really very nice. The lady is speaking good English and the man some French. Anyway, they will help you very kindly if you have any questions or problems : when we arrived, we forgot our son's teddy bear in the minivan we took from Vang Vieng : she made like 6 phone calls to find the driver, and waited for him in the late evening !
As a conclusion, Oudomphong Guesthouse 2 is the perfect place to stay in Luang Pabang.
