First off, the family that owns this place is great. During my stay they had a big ceremony with monks to bless the guesthouse and their new home. They invited everyone staying at the guesthouse and even fed us the night before the ceremony. It was a great peek inside traditional Lao culture. Mr Boinkirk (spelling??) is a charmer and his wife is so sweet too. The rooms are nice and clean and my bed was soft (asian beds are so bloody hard!). They helped with all my questions too. The communal area is awesome and there is plenty of chairs and tables all over the upstairs too that you can sit and meet other travelers or just chill out and enjoy the evening. And it's just steps away from the night market and the river too!
