The Lao Lu Lodge is an OK place but despite some previous comments I thought that it was overpriced for what it provided. I was charged 200,000 dong (US$25) and an additional 20,000 or 30,000 a night for air-con. This is for a very basic room with no TV, no fridge etc.
The bathroom is big, although the water pressure in the shower is on the low side. The rooms are 'cleaned' everyday but I am really not sure what they do other than empty the bins as the beds are not made and the bed linen was only changed once during my 7 days. I didn't realise that if I wanted the towels changed I had to put them in a linen basket and so left it on the floor to indicate that I would like it changed and it was still on the floor even after the room was 'cleaned'.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
