Went here for the book exchange, i actually didn't find anything i wanted but we spoke to one of the workers who explained about the money giving to the children here in the town for books for schools and were impressed by his enthusiasm and non pushiness! Even if you don't need a book, go and show your support! There are computers for use too.

A visit to the LPB library is always worthwhile. The head librarian - Chantha - is doing a sensational job of building the programs offered by the library and reaching more and more adults and children in the area. Chantha has also developed programs which establish 'seed libraries' in rural schools - changing the way books are used in primary schools in the area. These libraries are delivered using tuk tuks (book tuk tuk) and also boats (book boat). If you visit you can support the establishment of further libaries - just ask them how!

We had a wonderful experience at the library and with their book project. Spent one afternoon with their English language program. Then, made a significant donation to their book project and went out with the staff to deliver the books to a local village on the river. I hope we did some good. It was one of the great experiences of a lifetime.

I stayed in Luang Prabang for 1 month and visited the library most days. At lunch time, many Novice Monks and young locals come to meet foreigners to practice their English and get help with their English Schoolwork. It was the most rewarding part of my trip because not only did I help someone, but I feel I have made some great friends and learnt alot about their culture.

We went to teach the kids but it was a holiday so no many around. We bought a few books for the children and had a chat with the director. A real nice place for the kids.
