“Nice Temple in a Nice Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

The temple, like the rest of the city, is a a nice example of South East Asian architecture. When we visited Luang Prabang the weather was wonderful, dry and sunny. So that made our visit even more enjoyable, the purity of the air makes the contrast between the colors even stronger. Gold, red, blue.... You are overwhelmed by the richness of decorations and the originality of architecture. Unlike the Royal Palace, this is a place that brings you back in time.

Enjoy the visit to this special site .Lovely temple ornate decorations with monks living within the complex .Dont be afraid to say hello to the younger monks who like to practice their English .They are very shy at first but will soon tell you which premiership team they follow!

“What's the fuss???”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014 via mobile

Really! One medium sized central building, nicely decorated, but with absolutely NO explanation panels or guides available to explain what it's all about. No story, no intrigue, denada :(

And this is supposed to the main piece of Luwang Prabang? A UNESCO city? Penang in Malaysia was 20 times better than this. I sat on a bus for 7h along a twisty chunderous road for this.

Disappointing and fairly forgettable :(:(

“Art work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

Beautiful mosaics art work on the temples. There's still lots of restoration work on-going as of July'14. Entrance fee of 20,000kip and remember to dress decently to enter.

“Start of a journey”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Visit this place of meditation early morning or at dusk and it is practically guaranteed that you will know peace. Surrounded by smaller structures which are equally interesting, the main temple nevertheless is inspiring in its own way. If you have to begin a search within, this wouldbe a place to start.
