“A great Little Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013

This is a lovely small hotel with excellent service. The pool is lovely and the selection at breakfast first class.
There's a free shuttle bus to/from the town although it's only 15 minutes walk. Even better is the free use of bikes. Just right for the slow pace of life (and traffic) here. There's even a gym not that we used it!
I don't think you could ask for more of an establishment of this size.

Room Tip: On arrival we were given a free upgrade to The Villa. So, it might be worth asking for a free upgra...

We thought that staying at Le Sen for 4 nights just fitted the bill for us. Staff were delightful and the charming French manageress efficiently looked after the running of the main desk and breakfast area whilst we were there. Agree with those who said how accommodating the staff were with taking us into town (there were 4 of us) when we wanted in the evening - and dropping us off at the restaurant we wanted as well on a couple of occasions. There was only one occasion when we needed to get the tuk-tuk back to the hotel. Very pleasant room on 1st floor with sitting area outside on balcony and bedroom with all facilities - good bathroom too.
We thought the breakfast was excellent, you can choose how you want your fried breakfast, and very varied choice of other things. Nice to be outside the general hubbub of the centre of the town.

Re: discussion about the sunbeds. For those who haven't been to Le Sen it is impossible for everyone to have sunbeds in this boutique hotel as there simply isn't the room. When there is a full hotel, those on the 1st floor won't be able to have sunbed .The downstairs rooms only have one sunbed per double room. Fortunately we were there when it wasn't full, so were able to ask if we could have a couple of sunbeds moved near the pool, as well as enjoying our balcony on the 1st floor.

Lunchtime snacks/light meal. Great place just opposite the hotel with great value for money.

Le Sen is a small hotel within Luang Prabang with very friendly staff. The facilities are good (rooms and pool) and very clean. The breakfast is excellent and the atmosphere is very relaxed. They also provide free transport shuttles to the centre (which you could do by foot even) and provide bicycles as well. They knowledge of English and even French is very good.

Overall a very good stay.

Room Tip: You can ask for a ground floor room if you want easy access to the pool.

we stayed here for 5 days.It is truly a “boutique” hotel. The staff were so kind and helpful. The breakfast was ok. Location ; Shops are not far from this hotel and some are within walking distance - shuttle buses are available also.

Le Sen: lovely English speaking front desk staff; food excellent. Small scale but upscale. Located a bit out of the city center which we preferred. The hotel offers shuttle service to the post office (located right at the night market) or you can walk yourself in 15 minutes time. They have an excellent gym and the pool is good for a dip and short laps. For spa treatments, they have arrangements with three different outside vendors at varying price points. They arranged 'Banana Boat' tour to Pac Ou caves for us which was excellent as well. If your plan is to sit by a pool all day in the sun, ask for a ground floor room so you have a sun lounger. Rooms on second floor have reading chairs but no sun lounger.
(We are a family with older children but lots of couples and solo travelers here as well.)

A group of 14 spent 4 nights at Le Sen Boutique Hotel in late September. Excellent!!! The facilities, location and staff were all fantasti.. The pool and surroundings were clean and well maintained. The shuttle Bus service to the main post in Luang Prabang was very good, the staff were very obliging and ran us into town when we asked. The rooms were modern and very clean. All the buildings and grounds were very well maintained. The service is excellent – the staff were friendly and well trained. Breakfast was very good and the selection varied which was a great bonus.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground could be a bit noisy as the pool is very close to your room

This is an excellent hotel that is clean, safe, and well run. It is a 15 minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of Luang Prabang but there is a good bus shuttle service that the hotel runs for its guests. Being out of the throng of things is a plus: the hotel is quiet and a genuine retreat. Everything works and is much cleaner and more modern than most hotels in Laos. LP is a great town to spend a few days in. Worth doing the rounds with the agencies and spending a day combining waterfalls, elephants and caves.

Room Tip: Get a room that is on the first floor. The pool is in the middle of the hotel and having people swi...
