You will see some mixed reviews here which probably comes down purely to expectations. If you want a hotel style 5 star spa experience then go to those spas - there are some available in the $40 to $50 range which is still great value. If you've got used to spending Kip and by that I mean not a lot and you don't want to spend too much on a massage then there are dozens of 'spas' around in the $10 range. Most look like convenience stores with probably questionable service, but L'Hibiscus is in a charming old building which makes you feel like going back in time a bit and gives you a local flavour. Myself and wife booked a 1 hour aromatherapy massage which just meant an oil massage. You should visit in advance and make an appointment. We just had to wait 30 mins so grabbed a coffee next door. We could choose from 4 oils and got changed into a robe which was a little on small side but that's Asia for you. A foot wash to begin with (nice touch) was followed by a nice relaxing massage in a typical Asian fusion style which for those that live in this part of world will be familiar with. If you want a strong deep massage then you'll probably have to go for the traditional Lao one but that does not include oil. I found the massage very satisfactory. So again, if you want to just spend about $10 on a massage then this is the place to go. You get what you pay for.

Had a very nice 1 hr Laos massage for us8...how could one complaint? I was given a set of clothes to change and had the massage in a private a/c room (with curtain but no door)...so relaxing that I soon fallen asleep! Love the old yet authentic and charming spa building...like back in the old times! Nothing luxury (hey look at the price!) but excellent experience.

So far been here twice and will possibly go back one more time before leaving Luang Prabang! Had manicure, Lao massage and aromatherapy massage. The building is a bit ramshackle and it hasn’t got facilities of a resort spa (obviously) but for £10 an hour aromatherapy massage (£6 for Lao) you can’t go wrong. I’ve had better massages it has to be said but they were more than adequate particularly for the price and l love the character of this place.

Really recommend it.

A very cleaner, friendly and professional place. The tradicional Laos massage is must try! I felt so relax and well peaceful. I recommend to go in the morning and schedule your appointment because os always full.

Enjoyed a 90 minute Lao massage for the first time & I managed to fall asleep although the masseuse was quite firm! May have had something to do with the early morning start to watch the Alms Giving! I normally go for an aromatherapy massage but this was a good alternative as I felt it worked my muscles!!! Felt very relaxed afterwards & drifted back to my hotel. Good value. Many thanks.
