Sanctuary is a very comfortable and well-designed hotel with an excellent location. Just at the quieter part of the town, not even 500 meter from the night market.
The complete property is new and stylish. Rooms are very clean, tastefully decorated and have beautiful wooden flooring.
Great outdoor area for dinner and cocktails overlooking the pond.
Complimentary breakfast is tasty and complete with seasonal fresh juice and eggs cooked to order.
Both management and staff are very friendly and helpful.

The rooms in this fairly new hotel were spacious and beautifully furnished, set around a lovely garden and pond. Immaculately clean, they contained comfortable beds and all amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. There were problems with the Internet while we were there but it was restored after a couple of days. The location was good, within walking distance of all areas of interest and close to the night market. We really enjoyed our stay.

Had to meet friends in Luang Prabang and booked in to be near Amantaka, which is conveniently opposite Sanctuary. The property is quite well spread out, with the rooms in different buildings. The rooms are sufficiently appointed, with the usual amenities that make a hotel stay pleasant. And importantly, clean sheets and towels. Breakfast can be taken on an outdoor deck, next to the water-lily water-feature. Nice feature. Service is good, attentive manager and staff. Within short walking distance to the night market. Great value for the price paid. Will recommend for couples and business stays.

Lovely hotel, comfortable clean rooms. Stunning common garden area. Excellent location, a couple of blocks ouside the old part of town, yet near everything. Breakfast in the garden on the open air patio was lovely each morning, lots of choices - all of them good and plenty to eat. Their baguette is a winner! Service at reception was very good and helpful. All in all one of the best values thus far in our Thailand - Laos trip! Highly recommended. Just across the street is an Aman resort - at $1,300 a pop per night - it's obviously lovely - we had a look ... But in my mind the Sanctuary was a top notch winner and did a wonderful job!

I had a great time at Sanctuary Hotel. First, I want to say that it was VERY clean. And the rooms were SPACIOUS. The wifi worked well in the common areas. Breakfast was also delicious. Location was also great as it's only a 5 minute walk to the night market, and close to all the bars. Everyone at the hotel was super nice, and always wiling to go the extra mile to accommodate you, especially the manager, Antoine. Antoine was great in all aspects! He showed me around to all the hotspots in LP. He also drove me around in his scooter and made sure all my needs at the hotel were met. He advised where it was safe to go, where to eat, etc. Thank you Antoine so much for everything. I had such a great time at your hotel and would come back in a heartbeat. Please say thanks to your wonderful staff as well.

This is a very nice and new hotel (about 2 years) in a great location. The 2-story villas (3 rooms per story) are laid out around a central courtyard and pond, and breakfast is served on the deck by the pond. Breakfast is ample with lots of western and Lao choices. Rooms are clean and spacious, with a private balcony overlooking the central courtyard (if it's not too hot to sit outside). There are lots of available outlets (universal type that fit both US and euro plugs) which is welcome to a techie with lots of gadgets to recharge. I agree, however, with teachers55 - towels are in short supply. However, I took one with me to KiangSi Waterfalls and still found 2 clean ones when I returned.

A short walk brings you to the Night Market, and many restaurants beyond that. You can walk down the main street that curves around Phousi Hill and back in about 30 minutes, but it will take longer if you stop at some of the many shops along the way. We really liked the laid-back atmosphere of Luang Prabang; I consider it a hidden jewel with lots of interesting places to visit within an hour's drive.

Room Tip: Specify a ground floor room if you have trouble with stairs.

Dear valued guests,

All the hotel team and myself wish to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation for your kind comments. I am happy you were wowed by our guest room and its views, by our breakfast buffet overlooking the hotel rooms and the pond and by our closed proximity to places of interest in town. An error by the local travel agent meant we lost our original booking, but a walk in off the street got it reinstated and we are so glad it was. Every one from Henry the boss, to the grounds staff were helpful and courteous. It was amazing that you walked off the road and the ambience swallowed you up. Yes, we ended up with a suite, so had loads of space, but we did see the other rooms that were available and would have been happy with any of them. The room was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, well equipped with an incredibly comfortable bed. The bathroom had all that was needed with a shower bath and separate shower cubicle, no shortage of towels or racks to hang them on and reception had hairdryers available for the duration of your stay. We only had breakfasts but these were more than adequate, okay you didn't get the variety that you would have in a larger hotel, but the breads omelettes etc we're very tasty and enjoyable. On the day we left we weren't being picked up until 3pm and the room was made available for us until we were ready to leave. We genuinely have no negative feedback for our stay, it was the best hotel we stayed in during our three weeks in the area, we wish we could have had a couple of extra days there, it was a fantastic place to end our holiday. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back are furthest from the road so obviously the quietest.
