“Good Food, Service and Great Lava cake”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

I had passed by this location several times without noticing it. Then someone recommended the restaurant to me. Tangor has a good menu selection which is reasonably priced. The food (baked Camembert and grilled pork loin) was very good. The manager, Brice, was very hospitable. The baked lava cake was outstanding.

“Nice place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

We had dinner at Tangor in May. The atmosphere is good, they serve great French wine, they play nice music and the service is good.

The food is okay, but overall is was nothing special. The salad for example is very "plain vanilla" and could use a bit more fantasy and variety (make it a bit tastier by adding some extra ingredients. Though I like my greens, this was a bit too much simple plain green and dressing). The chef is French and you can eat amazing "western salads" in France (or the rest of Europe for that matter). So it could be changed easily I think. The satay was okay, but wasn't that good either. Just a regular satay that you can eat in any place.

If however you sit outside, have a nice drink and don't go with too high expectations about the food, you can definitely have a great evening here.

“Good drinks and service”

The ambience is great and service was very friendly. We sat on the front balcony and people watched for a couple of hours. Try the coffee shot. Yum

“An excellent change from Laos”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2014

A really excellent French restaurant looking over Sisavangvong Road. My wife had backed Camembert and I had duck both excellent in their own right but a welcome change from ubiquitous Lao cuisine. Even equipped with TinTin L'Orient. Price good, excellent service and a nice ambiance.

“Beautiful Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

I had a beautiful meal at this restaurant on my first evening in Luang Prabang. I had the baked camembert which, came with a salad and lightly toasted baguette. It was one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Although its components were relatively simple, combined they made a delicious and refreshing meal. Furthermore, the service was superb. I felt that this restaurant epitomised Laos' French influence whilst trying to incorporate Asian or local ingredients. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, and I would recommend eating here whilst in Luang Prabang.
