This restaurant is around the corner from the La Sen boutique hotel where we stayed in Luang Prabang. It is unpretentious, with private dining rooms and a few tables inside, and a large outdoor pavilion seating dozens in the evening. No one speaks a word of English, but this doesn't matter at all because the menu is made up of photographs of the food, with captions in Lao, Chinese and English together with prices in Lao Kip. And here is the point - the dishes exactly resemble the pictures, and they are delicious. The translations are sometimes surprising, but "Pickled Pork" is ambrosial.
