It is a steep climb up 328 steps to the top of the hill in the centre of Luang Prabang, but most of it is shaded & the views at the top are spectacular over the Mekong & Nam Khan rivers. The shrine at the top is small but it is the view that everyone goes up there for.
The most interesting part was the small Wat Pa Houak situated about half way up the hill, just off the stairway, with its mural dating to 1860.
