Nice and clean guesthouse. Located right behind Manichan Guesthouse and nearby Phou Si hill, night market, old palace, riverside cafes, and travel agencies.

Got myself a private room with bathroom. It was really comfortable, quiet and private. Really worth it for such low price.

Please stay here if want a small and cosy place, in between the night market n local houses. GOOD!

After looking at about 10 other guesthouses around (some of them recommended) I found this place for 80k KIP - The rooms was really clean and big. a small nice balcony for (free) coffee in the morning. 1 minute from the morning market, 3 minutes from the night market.
And the staff is sooo nice... also did laundry there came out great :)
Bottom line: go there!

We saw this place and two others get good reviews and seemed good value on tripadvisor but could not book online. After one place turned out to be unavailable we went on the hunt for Pakam and it was well worth it. The staff were very kind and friendly, it was very cheap and the rooms were great and we stayed for three nights. The room and bathroom were a good size and it was all very well maintained. The wifi was a little slow but I don't think that is uncommon in Luang Prabang and anyway, you don't want to be hear spending all your time on the internet anyway. The pillows weren't the softest ever but they did free water, tea, coffee and bananas and we would happily stay here again. Such a shame to only have time for two days and three nights in this town.

From the moment we arrived (me and my girlfriend), we lived this place.
The woman who received us didn't speak much English but she was absolutely loveable.

Rooms are beautiful, super clean, fresh, with light, fan, no TV (which is great in Laos, so you can completely relax).
Very quiet place, run by a family. Free coffee, tea and bananas and a beautiful common terrace.

We asked in a dozen of other gh because we needed a computer (pakam doesnt have one) and we found some that were ok, but we just couldn't leave the lovely Pakam.

The Pakam Gueshouse is a hidden gem! Even in lowseason it's so hard to find a good inexpensive guesthouse in luang prabang so we were very happy when we found this superlovely little guesthouse in a quiet sidestreet! No noise from the traffic and yet very close to the river and only a 5 minute walk to the famous foodmarket!! The rooms are spotless clean and with the dark wooden furniture and white curtains it gives a "boutique-style" feeling! They even have a little common balcony! Great to seat there in the evening and zip a beer laos and the chat with the very friendly staff!! We can highly recommend this guesthouse!

We arrived at Pakam Guest house at 7am, they poor guy was still asleep and a little bit hungover but he showed us a room and we booked in. The rooms are clean & comfortable and everything works. The service is warm and friendly although you're never quite sure who is running it but that doesn't matter. We came back one evening and they invited us to join them for some beer laos. If you get the chance then take it. We had a great evening with lots of laughs trying to speak Laos and learning more about Laos than we knew before. The location is great too, a quiet pretty little side street close to the night market and river. We would definitely go back. Perfect. Great value for money.

Room Tip: We had a downstairs double which was quiet and had shutters on the window so we could close them at...

A gem in Luang Prabang, I absolutely adored my time at this guesthouse. The rooms were clean, linen was crisp and the decor was a lovely blend of white walls and heavy teak furniture. I thought it was suprerb value for money, though there was no breakfast included, there were free bananas and coffee, tea, wifi. Family who run the guesthouse are super friendly as well. The location was also convenient, very near the nightmarket, phousi and the royal palace museum. Check out the temples across the river as well, worth the trip to see the contrast between the villages there and Luang Prabang.
